What a pity it is to live in a world where people can just throw away their newborn infants. This is an alarming epidemic in America where women are no longer choosing to have babies instead, they are opting to get rid of them on the tax payers dime. These young women are not only refusing to take responsibility for their action, they are purposefully getting pregnant to swindle extra money from the federal government to pay for their horrid abortions. The only solution that would be effective and put an end to this deplorable act is to ban abortions altogether no matter the cause; to prove that America means business why not impose an abstinence law that all women must obey. Why waste taxpayers’ money on a class that would teach women, the
...ions over her own body; whether it is parenthood, adoption, contraception, or yes, abortion. After all, it is entirely plausible for people to be personally pro-life but politically pro-choice – this suggests that they respect each individuals’ rights over his or her own body and recognize that each woman should be allowed to have options. Regardless of whether or not she chooses to have the child, it is the fact that she has a choice that is crucial, and it is imperative that each woman have the freedom of individual autonomy. In order for this to occur, abortion must continue to be legal. Ultimately, being pro-choice is not necessarily advocating the use of abortion – it is about ensuring that abortion is legal so that women may have the option to exercise their right to individual autonomy and make the decisions that best reflects their stance in life.
The birth of a child is usually a wonderful and priceless occasion. However, on June 5, 2015, an eleven-year-old girl gave birth to a newborn girl. Approximately a year before she gave birth, her 40-year-old father repeatedly sexually assaulted her. In this case, the unprepared eleven-year-old child decided to have the baby. This is a prime example that illustrates that the right to abortion should always be vested in the woman. Abortion, which has been debated for centuries and will continue to be fought upon for centuries to come, is a hot issue among social, political, and religious entities. This research paper will inform the reader about abortion using scholarly journals to define abortion, specifically when a fetus becomes a human being,
Many mothers would agree that having a child is not the easiest task, and the thought of nine months of pregnancy is scary, especially when someone simply is not ready for a child; so women taking desperate measures to end their pregnancy is somewhat understandable. Found in an informational database, an article states, “Statistics clearly show that when abortion is made illegal or inaccessible, women who confront unwanted pregnancies inevitably turn to other, typically very unsafe, avenues to end their pregnancies rather than carrying them to term. Out of desperation, they may seek help from unqualified, unregulated providers who work in unsanitary conditions and provide no post-surgical care” (Abortion: Guide to Critical Analysis; Database). This proves that banning abortion inevitably causes a danger to women who do not want to have children, but are being forced to. With abortion banned there would be no more demand and jobs for physicians or providers of the abortion procedure to do so safely, which result in those desperate women to end their pregnancy on their own or with dangerous methods. However, because California already allows abortions, this problem is not too serious. The state of California has actually broadened the types of providers for abortions, which give women more options to choose who they believe will give them the
Some doctors would say that the fetus is only a potential human being, John M. Swomley stated “because the fetus feels no pain, a function of the brain as yet undeveloped”, therefore no harm is being done towards the fetus. Many advocates would agree towards doctor Swomley’s statement compared to Christianity Today stating “ It is violence against children, a hideous act of poisoning or dismembering tiny bodies, then dumping them in a landfill or garbage disposal”. The biggest benefit of abortions are that the number of unwanted children are decreasing, with doctors philosophy of having good medical abortions that protect health and fertility, make abortions possible. This has been a tremendous achievement in individual health, helping women gain more dignity, therefore making our society more “responsible”. A woman’s choice allows them to become more empowered, it liberates them, and benefits their society even more.
With the ongoing debate and the advancement of technology in determining the viability of a fetus, abortion, the ending of a pregnancy by removing a fertilized egg, has become increasingly controversial. The morality of abortion has caused many to separate into opposite sides of the spectrum, pro-life and pro-choice. The arguments over abortion has stirred a continuous debate between a pro-choice stance such as that presented by the analogical reasoning of Thomson or Glover’s examination of social context and a pro-life position argued by a moral view of personhood by Noonan. The ethical arguments presented by the conflicting views in the abortion debate has caused others to taken into consideration a sociological account visible in Luker’s examinations of world views in order to discover underlying motivations.
Abortion advocates ask “What about the mother?” and the prolife advocates answer “what about the baby?”- The Feminist Case against Abortion. Serrin M. Foster. Sept 2015. Web jan 2015. http://americamagazine.org/issue/feminist-case-against-abortion. This is a very serious subject in our society today. Almost 42 million induced abortions happen all over the world each year. This is 42 million unborn children that never had a chance or even a say in what their futures would hold. This is not preventing poverty; we have proved that, this is our country not holding anyone responsible for their actions. Those that have supported this action are just as guilty as those that have committed the injustice act. These children did not ask to be made
Every day, an overwhelming amount of human beings’ lives are terminated. The culprit: unwanted pregnancies. Many woman are (not by choice), becoming pregnant as a result of unsafe sex, rape, and other things. So what is one to do when they discover that they’re pregnant? They have some alternatives: (1) have the child and raise it (2) have the child, then give it up for adoption (3) get an abortion. Sadly, many women choose alternative three, unaware of what they’re getting themselves into.
...oing on. We need some one to step up and make the issue known to all Americans. Most are too afraid to talk about this due to the fact that they don’t want to be looked upon badly for talking about an issue that is usually a “hush-hush” topic. So I encourage you to please stand up and say what you think, feel, and believe towards this issue and help us all fight to stop abortions in America before it becomes a tragic epidemic like teen pregnancies.
Abortion is a legal process, therefore it should be seen as acceptable if a women decides to go through this process. Yet, abortion is definitely not a cut and dry subject. There are many issues to address before making such permanent decision, but a woman has the right to decide what happens to their body. Although you may get easily judged for it, abortion is an option to take in some situations.
It is saddening to see humans of the female gender, who find themselves in a situation that requires introducing a new life into the world; to abort such a precious gift. Many may wonder how these poor, innocent, unborn children are then discarded after the abortion procedure. One cannot fathom the reason of these gruesome murders that happens within these medical facilities. Babies are disposed in the red waste bins of these facilities, and later incinerated. Some may either be flushed down garbage disposals or even be sold off for research purposes. The issue of abortion is not just a social one, but also a human rights issue among the unborn children. I believe if the human rights of these children has been violated, then all other rights of humans are certainly meaningless.
Is it logical for a mother to determine the sex of the baby before the baby is born? Selective Abortion is where a fetus has some kind of undesirable characteristics or there are too many fetuses are in the uterus and the parent(s) have voluntarily chosen to dismantle that undesirable characteristic of the fetus before the baby is born. Selective Abortion is not common in North America; on the other hand, it is very common in other countries and various cultures. Selective Abortion is completely going against the right of actually having a child and knowing that God has given you this precious gift for a reason and there is no excuse on why one would need to mess that up.
Having children is one of the most amazing things in the world but some children are created with the wrong idea behind them. RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network) reports that there is “on the average of 237,868 people, ages 12 or older that have become victims of rape and sexual assault yearly.” Some of these rape and sexual assault crimes result in women becoming pregnant with a baby that they had not planned on. Women who become pregnant due to rape and sexual assault are usually very eager to get rid of their baby due to the fact that their child would possibly be a reminder of a part in their life that they would not like to recall.
...ly members. Those choices are much better than killing an unwanted child and they wouldn’t lay to heavily on the mother’s conscience. There is a slightly good chance of abortion becoming illegal in the years to come. Our President, George Bush recently signed a ban on abortion and plans on taking it to court to make it illegal (Entous). This ban will cover partial-birth abortions. This type of abortion has been the subjects of many disputes and failed to make it to court. Many people were outraged and upset because it didn’t protect women’s rights. Who knows if abortion will ever become illegal? The way the world is going, it may never become illegal. Our values and morals have diminished and things may continue to worsen. As long as America has a strong president that stands up for what he believes in concerning the issue, we may one day see it happen.
Abortion has been one of the most talked about topics in society just about anywhere from television, magazines, whether or not it should be the right or wrong thing to do. Abortion is a very sensitive issue to discuss, because of its nature. Many people have said that abortion is a very bad thing to do and it should not even be choice whether or not to abort a living fetus. People think that abortion is committing murder as it is killing the human fetus. However, others feel that a woman should have a voice and have the right to choose to keep the child or not and that it is not murder until the baby is born. Majority of individuals who believe that abortion is bad say that the fetus is human who is partly being formed and to have an abortion is considered to be murder. For the people who think an abortion is ok, say that it’s not considered murder unless the child is born. I believe that abortion should be seen in which the stage the fetus is in. if the fetus is in an early stage of pregnancy it is not considered murder, but if the fetus has already began to develop into a larger fetus then it is indeed considered to be murder. There are times when abortion can be accepted, if the mother is having complications due to pregnancy. For example if the mother is enduring complications in her pregnancy that can harm her, because of the child in that case it is ok to perform an abortion to help save the mother’s life. It is also very important to understand this type of situation. The mother has the right to have an abortion and it is her decision because a mother knows best about her health conditions.
Aigner Jackson Carol Froisy College Composition Abortions for what? For years now women have been aborting fetuses. Some with and others without the help of medical professionals. Abortion is an unjust procedure that hinders women both mentally and physically. The risks to the woman and fetus are well known, but still ignored.
