There have been many advances in technology that have occurred and are continuing to occur since the turn of the century. Fortunately, most of them have been cost-effective and practical. These inventions have, because of their high convenience, become so integrated into the normal, daily life of humans. Some, however, are frequently debated upon. They are argued over because they are looked at by some as profitless innovations, and therefore unnecessary for mainstream use (Shahan). One such debated upon idea is the use of solar power to generate energy, and I believe its benefits do outweigh the costs. The use of solar power to generate any type of energy is referred to as solar energy. Solar energy is very beneficial to both nature and humans. This is because the amount of money being saved from this method of generating energy is drastically more than that being spent at the initial stage in very beginning (Shahan). Also, it won't damage the economy but in fact, will actually improve it immensely. Despite generating electricity with fossil fuels for years and years there is a much better way that does not harm the environment. Using Solar panels does not produce any carbon dioxide unlike fossil fuels that “produces huge volumes of carbon dioxide, which is a gas that influences the global climate” (“Solar Power Vs. Fossil Fuels”). Having the choice to get power in a new way that saves the environment, home owners should not have to think twice about trying solar. In fact if home owners collect some amount of watts per hour on Monday, that will not reduce the amount of solar energy a home owner can collect on Wednesday or any other day that week. They can always keep collecting the power. No matter what people may argue about how much coal, natural gas and petroleum remains buried in the Earth, those fossil fuels will run out far earlier than the life of the sun ("Solar Power Vs. Fossil Fuels"). Home owners should invest in solar energy because solar systems have very dependable technology with little maintenance, they offer financial savings and they are better for the environment.

The sun has been a major aspect of life since the beginning of time. People used many other forms of energy before electricity was discovered. There has been a debate over energy resources for years. Many people are worried about what current energy resources may be doing to the environment. With the sun’s vital role in sustaining earth life, exposure to it’s harmful rays is inevitable. The light energy emanated from the sun is comprised of ultraviolet A rays, which primarily cause deep skin sun damage and aging, while ultraviolet B rays account for temporary sunburn (“Sunscreens Explained”). Precautionary actions against these rays can prevent longterm skin issues, including skin cancer. In order to physically defend against these invisible rays, UV blocking is necessary through the forms of sunscreen, eye protection, and protective clothing. I have already written about the obvious benefits of going solar. There are other benefits as well that decrease the impact on our earth over time. Solar panels and battery banks have a life of 25-35 years and don't need anything more than general cleaning, snow removal and monthly water filling. Solar energy is the cleanest and purest form of energy, allowing for cleaner air overall in our environment. There is great hope for a lot more solar panels to be installed worldwide.

I believe any negative economic effects that the transition from traditional to renewable energy may have on our economy would be counteracted by the plethora of positive effects that would come about as a result. It is a movement that many participate in to help improve the environment. Technology improves the “Going Green” movement since machines can help one save money, energy, and resources from being wasted (i.e. using hand dryers in replacement of having paper towels exchange periodically).
