I hate the smell of cigarette smoke, It’s a very offensive one. And that’s not to mention the damage that smoking can do to your body and the people around you. I probably tried smoking a cigarette on one or two occasions, and through the coughing and wheezing, I cant begin to imagine the damage that it has caused and is causing on lifetime smokers. Throughout my teenage years and early twenties, I loathed cigarettes and the appalling smell that accompanied them (even though, I will admit that the greaser culture of the 1950s made cancer sticks look pretty awesome). To the best of my knowledge cigarette sales have decreased and cigarette smoking is at an all time low, but that doesn’t discredit the fact that there are millions of cigarette …show more content…

Toni is my girlfriend of three years, she has light caramel skin, she flaunts long black curly hair, she is short, has dark brown eyes and carries the most alluring smile I 've laid eyes on. We have no plans for the rest of the night so most likely, we will stay home, cuddle under warm covers and watch 80s slasher/horror flicks to get us in the Halloween spirit. Before I begin to get comfortable, I feel my cell phone vibrate inside my front jean pocket. If I 'd have to guess who it is, I 'd say it’s a text message from my best friend Denny. I 'm right. Before reading Denny 's text message, I assume he will ask what Toni and I are doing. He does. I reply to him, "we are watching movies" and before he responds back, I assume he will invite us to go with him and his girlfriend Jessica to the haunted houses. Once again, I am right. Toni is more than ecstatic after she finds out where we 've been invited to, my demeanor on the other hand shows the contrary. I simply don 't see the point of spending large amounts of money to freeze long hours in line, only to be howled at by people dressed up in cheap costumes. If I wanted to be scared, I 'd throw some David Cronenberg films on my Blu-ray player and turn all the lights off. Smelling like cigarettes isn 't as big of a deal as having our lungs collapse when breathing it. Another thing public smokers don’t take into consideration, are the people with asthma. Millions of people around the world suffer from asthma, a respiratory state in which the airways become inflamed to a point so narrow that the air traveling into the lungs become almost unreachable. So when smokers decide to spark a cancer stick around a pedestrian, they aren 't thinking of the person next to them or in what way the cigarette smoke polluting the air is going to affect them. What if the smoker was smoking next to a person with asthma? Well, the cigarette smoke can inflame the lungs, an already inflamed airway and that cause an asthma attack. All in all, people who smoke shouldn’t need to be aware of anyone 's condition to consider weather or not to smoke when in public. There are hundreds of designated smoking places to go to when that urge comes knocking and the people who don’t smoke shouldn’t need to hold their breath whenever they pass someone who is
