What is the real potential to the country of using wind energy to provide electricity? Some critic’s claim that wind energy cannot replace conventional power sources, For example, when the wind is not blowing it cost too much for the power sources to not be running and just sitting there. It can be beneficial to have generators and other resources on standby when large power sources are down. The wind power plants also cut down on pollution. Wind has been the fastest growing source of electricity generation in the world through the 1990s. Wind energy is an endless resource, which makes costs decline, the United States is always finding new and better ways to improve and keep dwindling the coast. Wind energy production helps create more jobs in a more efficient safe way.
Some of the advantages of wind energy are, wind energy does not pollute the air, or put off harsh chemical like other power sources. The cost is low to operate, and it creates jobs for communities in rural America. Wind energy is a clean energy source. Wind will always be here it is never going away so why not uses it to our advantage. Around places like where we live, the Texas Panhandle. The wind is always blowing, so wind turbines are very efficient and useful. Just look around. The big turbines are everywhere.
One of the disadvantages of wind energy turbines is that they require a large amount of space. Therefore, the most feasible and cost efficient places to place wind energy are in rural areas. Unfortunately, they decrease the property value of surrounding areas, and disruptive to wild life, such as birds. Additionally, wind energy is not feasible everywhere. It has to be somewhere where the wind blows so the production would be more cost efficient than regular energy sources like power
