UNDERAGE ALCHOL CONSUMPTION
Alcoholism is a broad term used for the damages caused by alcohol (Tracy, Sarah 31-52). Alcoholism in United States of America is consumption by adults under the age of 21 all over the country. Though the age is similar to this in all countries but the conditions vary. In some countries it is completely banned, while others have conditions in consuming it. Underage drinking has become very common especially it has become common in a sense that the minors and adults like to take in closed doors. They drink commonly before going out. This is called pre-partying. Mostly people who oppose underage drinking think that if it has to happen it should be taken in a controlled environment so that the condition can be controlled
At the age of twenties the urge to get alcohol gets more because of the social bond they share. Some people think that taking alcohol by teens is not immoral because by getting accepting by the society it is important to be like them. It is an embarrassment for the teens if they do not drink while others are and for them it is a symbol of freedom (Hoffman, Tabakoff ) In some societies it has become a cultural norm of drinking, so the teens when see all that thinks that it is something which is a style icon. Social gatherings also promote underage drinking. Countries which favor this idea are either due to parental consent or educational purposes. Parental consent means that parents are willing to allow their children for alcoholism because they think that if they won’t allow them, their child will be left behind and that he/she will not be socially accepted. In most families it has become a symbol of style for them and they think that it’s nothing harm in living a life for good and glamour.. For educational purposes people consider that others at school who are taking alcohol encourage others also to do so.
