It is nearly impossible nowadays for one to live a typical day without utilizing modern advancements- smartphones, vaccines, iPads, video games, Kindles, and even toilets. Over the course of modern human history, society as a whole has developed advancements which were meant to aid humans to take on everyday tasks. However, we have become heavily dependent on some of these advancements and they now prove to be a major set-back for society. Though critics claim modern advancements could have been prevented, society has suffered from advancements concerning technology’s pressure and danger placed on teenagers, the risks which come with stem cell treatments in the medical field, and the destruction of thousands of innocent lives caused by a single atomic bomb during war. …show more content…

Document 2 says that “88 percent of teens who consider themselves ‘safe’ drivers report using phone apps on the road.” While teenagers may consider themselves as focused and drive with caution, using a device while driving is known to be unsafe and skyrockets the probability of an accident. Technology has put the safety of its driving users and all surrounding them at risk. In fact, “pressures of this ‘always-on’ lifestyle have manifested in potentially deadly consequences.” The fear of missing out and breaking the chain of staying hyper connected is always on, even if it means sacrificing sleep hours and increasing the chance of motor accidents. Both effects caused by the pressure laid upon by technology are detrimental to one’s health and human interaction. Burying oneself in a device has lessened the amount of face-to-face communication and society cannot function properly without real-life conversations.
