Best bags for grocery shopping
Paper or plastic grocery bags are better for the environment?
The debate over paper or plastic grocery bags has no apparent end in sight. Arguments can be made for these materials as the most environmentally friendly, but some have settled the issue by switching to reusable shopping bags. Although this solution can be elegant, most consumers are still faced with the question every time they shop for groceries. To decide between two choices, it might help to consider what is meant by "better for the environment." The paper is more biodegradable but requires trees to be felled and processed. Plastic can take centuries to decompose, but it is less energy to produce.

Plastic bags can take centuries to degrade, and they discharge harmful gasses to the environment as they do. The bags can also block sunlight, which can hinder the natural restoration process as small plants die. Biodegradable plastic bags developed recently made from non-petroleum sources have improved conditions somewhat, but there are still millions of traditional plastic bags sitting virtually unchanged under the ground.
Plastic bags are a recyclable effect, which should be a positive step for the environment, but few customers actual ly back their plastic bags to the store. Paper bags, on the other hand, can be made from recycled materials and pulp waste from other processes. When it comes to the ability to be recycled, paper or plastic debate leans paper. If a grocery bag biodegradable plastic made from organic materials should appear, however, the scales can become a little more balanced.
In short, paper bags in their present form seem to be better from an environmental point of view, but all that is not reusable package havoc on our natural resources. Of course, once a suitable replacement for oil-based plastic can be found, the plastic bags of the future can still be better for the eco-friendly grocery bag than paper or cloth bags are

In the original three day diet analysis, Susanne Coleman found that she was not eating from all of the food groups recommended by the food pyramid. Particularly, she was not eating the amount of fruits, vegetables and grains recommended. While she felt she made wise food decisions, there was room for improvement. When completing another three day diet analysis, Susanne received different results. After completing the original three day diet analysis, Susanne has been more conscientious of her food choices. Since the first analysis, Susanne has begun to plan meals ahead and to pack her meals for the day to stay on track.

Using plastic bags were something everyone feels bad using. We use them everyday in some form or another, but we tend to forget the bad that they do. Plastic bags should not be used or allowed in the U.S because it tends to do more harm than good in our society or world.
First, our community should continue to extend the use of plastic bags because they produce less pollution in the environment. The opponents of plastic bags agreed that limiting the production of plastic is beneficial to the environment because they claimed that “...plastic bags don’t biodegrade…”, therefore, the bags “...often (clog) drainage systems (which) contributed to flooding,” (Doc B). Since plastic bags are easily moveable, they regularly get caught in trees, poles, and even drainage systems; however, the EPA noted that “...paper doesn’t degrade all that much faster than plastics,” (Doc F). Despite being criticized for causing damage to the environment, the rate at which plastic bags degrade is similar to that of paper bags; therefore, this shows that if plastic

In light of recent events, a question has arose concerning the use of plastic bags. Some people argue that plastic bags are detrimental to the environment, while others argue that outlawing the use of these bags is unfathomable. On Tuesday, September 30th, 2014 California became the first state in the U.S. to ban the use of single-use plastic bags after a bill was signed by California Governor Jerry Brown. Under this bill, plastic bags will slowly be phased out and will no longer be in use by 2016. But can one argue that this bill is simply irrational? In this essay, I will examine the different opinions of five various sources, in order to better answer the question of whether or not plastic bags should be banned. The first three of these

To be honest, nutrition was never my first priority when shopping for foods. My taste buds and budget determined the foods I bought and prepared for my family. I know I am not alone in this meal planning failure. For some of us eating healthy is equal to a big expense and we choose foods of low nutritional value because they are on sale or those are the foods we can actually afford. The article “Eat Healthfully on a Budget” provides valuable resources on how to buy healthy foods that will meet our nutritional requirements by using meal planning all without breaking the bank.
I would plan my meals out for the day and place them in the system and see what my outcome would be before I cook or prepare them from me and my son. I also tied to bake a lot of my foods and not fry them. I eliminated a lot of salts and sodium from my diet as will. The food tracker counts everything! I made to sure not to substitute to many to snacks to replace my craving of bread. Me and my son came up with fun things to eat like the old school peanut butter and celery with raisins for snacks. On the third day we actually ate nothing but veggies for dinner like asparagus, corn, and sliced Irish potatoes. The meal was very different but for my son to like it I was shocked. I even
Before you go shopping take an inventory of the food items that you have at home and the things that you will need. Make a list of items that you will need to pick up at the grocery store. Leaving a small notebook in the kitchen or a magnetic notebook on the refrigerator will make keeping a list easier. When you notice that you are out of an important food item, write it down. While doing the grocery shopping, make sure that you stick to the list. The important food items that are needed are on the list, all other items that you might want aren’t necessary.
Millions of plastic bags are given out to consumers by supermarkets and stores to carry their goods in. They are also cheap, light, durable, easy to carry and in many cases, free. The most commonly used shopping bag is made of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). This type is used in the majority of supermarkets and stores. After these bags are used, they often end up in landfills or as litter, roughly only three percent of plastic bags is actually recycled per year (Planet Ark, 2011). The materials used in making plastic bags make them non-biodegradable. According to the science dictionary, 2011 refers to “these materials cannot be decomposed into environmentally safe waste materials by the action of soil bacteria.” These harmful substances are toxic and take approximately four hundred years to break down, or in this case photo-degrade; which is how plastics made from (HDPE) break down. Since they are not biodegradable, they remain in the environment and are absorbed in soil or water (Indian Centre for Plastics in the Environment, 2010). This essay will discuss the various harmful effects of plastic bags, and demonstrate the risks that these bags impose on humans, animals and the environment. It will also discuss a series of suggested solutions that could help reduce plastic bag usage.
While I was tracking my eating for these three days, I began to learn about the benefits of the food that I am eating and the nourishment that they provide for my body. I had never realized how big of a role that the food that I eat plays in my everyday life. Eating has never been something that I really think about it is just something that I do. After I looking at the data of what I eat on Choose My Plate, I realized that my eating habits are far from balanced and that I needed to work on bringing my eating habits to a better balance. While there are a lot of things that I have been doing right, there are also many things that I can work on.
I chose to have the same meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner for three days, not in a row, of course. So day one, two and three will look the same; it is roughly what I consume on a regular basis, I really didn’t have to alter my meals much at all, only to make sure I had the same meals each day.
