One may ask how the Greenhouse Effect is so detrimental to the environment. The burning of fossil fuels expels extra greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. The most abundant gas released from this process is Carbon Dioxide. When Carbon Dioxide levels are high, this in turn causes the temperature to rise causing many different things to happen, such as the melting of the polar ice caps. Should the polar ice caps melt, this would not only wash out many different ecosystems from the excess water on land, but it would also release a great deal of Carbon Dioxide into the atmosphere that had been trapped in the ice caps.
So the co2 and burning gases causes the increase of global warming (http://www.nmsea.org/Curriculum/Primer/Global_Warming/fossil_fuels_and_global_warming.htm) Radiations: Radiations also increase the global warming. Some elements emitted radiations naturally so that the temperature of is increased. : Melting of the ice caps : loss of habitat near the poles. Polar bears are now thought to be greatly endangered by the shortening of their feeding season due to dwindling ice packs. Greenhouse gases: Greenhouse gases are the the gases that block the ultraviolet rays coming from the sun on earth.
Like I explained earlier, carbon dioxide in the Earth has increased dramatically and this is cause by burning fossil fuels which results in the Greenhouse Effect. Almost everything in the world consists of fossil fuels in some type of way. We burn fossil fuels when driving our car, powering machinery, using electricity, flying planes, etc. (Planet Save) I thought that the following chart was very interesting because it explains that the human causes of global warming are extremely higher than natural effects. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, this dec... ... middle of paper ... ...are efforts to slow down the rate of global warming that are being implemented.
The plants work by burning fossil fuels and it produces large amount of Carbon Dioxide. Also, Vehicles is one of the causes of global warming. In addition, deforestation is also a cause of global warming. Trees can take in CO2 from atmosphere and it releases oxygen. Moreover, Increase in Sea level is also a reason.
However, too many greenhouse gases can cause the temperature to increase out of control. Such is the case on Venus where greenhouse gases are abundant and the average temperature at the surface is more than 855 degrees Fahrenheit (457 degrees Celsius). We have increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels, such as coal, oil and petrol. Cows, rice fields and rubbish rotting in landfill sites produce methane, and aerosols and fridges use CFCs. The removal of trees - deforestation - is also thoug... ... middle of paper ... ...warming.
With the rising temperatures the stretch of the deserts would increase. Carbon dioxide increases the evaporation of water into the atmosphere. Since water vapour itself is a greenhouse gas, this causes still more warming. The warming causes more water vapour to be evaporated. The C02 level is expected to rise in future due to ongoing burning of fossil fuels and land use change.
According to Union of concerned Scientists, the extreme weather events such as sea level rise, more frequent heat waves, and growing wildfire risks are the results of global warming. It is true that droughts are becoming longer and wildfire is increasing. I believe that human activities are warming our Earth and leading to increases in weather events. I think that one reason for this problem is the gas that is emitted by burning of fossil fuels to make electricity, and drive car. These gases are called greenhouse gases which include Carbone dioxide(CO2), Methane (CH4) etc.
The activities result to cloudiness, greenhouse gases and aerosols’ increase in the atmosphere. However, fossil fuels are the largest contributors of carbon II oxide gas. In turn, aerosols and greenhouse gases alter solar radiation income and out-going thermal radiation on the earth’s surface (Hughes 66). In this case, this leads to cooling or warming of the climate. Historically, climatic changes resulted from the birth of industrialization.
With the rise in modern technology, the average temperature of the Earth’s surface has increased about 1.4 °F; two-thirds of which has arisen since the early 1980’s. Industrialized countries are major contributors to climate change, due in part to their involvement in deforestation and the burning of fossil fuels. These activities lead to an increase in levels of greenhouse gases, which scientists propose is the number one cause of global warming. The greenhouse effect is an example of external forcing: any process that has influence over climate, outside of the climate system. When infrared radiation is emitted and absorbed into the atmosphere, the greenhouse effect occurs.
Are you shocked that our environment is becoming an issue in the world today? Climate change which means there’s a significant and lasting change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns over periods raging form decades to million of years, is the main culprit in damaging our earths environment. Humans causes global warming by burning fossil fuels, coal, oil and gas cause global warming. Over the past 200 years carbon dioxide has been increasing and applied to the earths atmosphere. Humans are the ones who are causing the most damage to the earths environment, that movements are being made to put the mistake that humans are making to cause climate change (global warming) into perspective of how harmful the things humans do in their every day lives can and will effect the environment, this is so we can help to improve those affects.
