Donald J. Trump was born in Queens, New York, on June 14, 1946. He was the fourth child of Fred and Mary-Anne Trump. Donald was born into wealth and prosperity (Wikipedia). His family operated a profitable New York real estate developing company, they specialized in middle-income housing, it was called Elizabeth Trump & Sons. President Trump initially went to school at Kew Forest School, in Forest Hills, New York. At the young age of thirteen, his parents sent him to New York Military Academy (NYMA) in upstate New York. He performed well, both socially and academically. He became a star athlete and student leader by the time he graduated in 1964. He came from a family that was supportive and successful during his time of critical period. His family also expected him to become disciplined, and continue his education and prosper. In other words he didn’t know any different, but to become successful. Therefore, this allowed him to not have fear or doubt; he assumed he would be successful because his family was. This brings us into hereditary (nature) and environmental (nurture) influences behavior and development (Licht, pg. 335). President Trump became who he is because of nature and nurture. The behavior President Donald Trump executes is narcissistic to some degree, I feel all politicians, actors/performers need this to stand out from the crowd. Tradition and religion tend to become more important with age possibly because it helps to give meaning to life. Additionally, President Donald Trump has changed his values and morals over the years, and has become bolder in stating his religious beliefs. These achievements and changes are what allowed him to become the 45th President of the United States of America. High achievers are often marked by a strong motive to achieve. They have a strong desire to accomplish something important, and gain gratification from success in demanding tasks (Psychology Today). Consequently, it appears they are willing to expend intense effort over long timespans in the pursuit of their goals. President Trump grew up with this type of thinking from a very early age, because of his parents influence on his life. Furthermore, success is a personal responsibility.
