“Did you know the Bible talks about a great cube-shaped spaceship coming down to Earth?” Is this talking about UFOs? (Graves 12) To begin, this paper is on UFOs, the appearances of extraterrestrial spacecraft; also, the criteria to be one. Why extraterrestrial rockets are perceived to be undeniably real, legitimate, things. Why Flying saucers are perceived to be not tangible, or legitimate things. Finally, why the media glamorizes UFOs. UFO’s will forever be a controversy because of media glamorization, and popularization of it. The summer of 1952 in the U.S. was a hot one. The National Airport in Washington D.C., there were many visual and radar sighting reports. However, it was blamed on temperature inversions of the air. (Shostak) In the Chicago O’Hare Airport, a UFO was spotted hovering over a landing strip. Many civilians and workers saw it. It was reported on the radio. It dipped out of the sky an the FAA denied it completely. (Kean 65) At 5:15 p.m. in Liége Belgium policemen were patrolling around and in a field there was a UAP. Shining so bright the men could read their newspaper in the car, the UAP was in that field. There was a triangular shaped unknown vehicle. It made no sound and numerous other people saw the same thing. (Kean 24) There were pictures of the UAP and people were trying to see if it was fake but there was no heat radiation given off, no one tampered with the pictures. Overexposing of the pictures, shows it was in fact a triangular craft. (Kean 30) Júlio Guerra a respected Air Force pilot looked down from his plane while flying it and saw a UFO coming at him at impeccable and unachievable speeds and angles.     What really happened over the summer in 1947 in Roswell, New Mexico? People have debated this topic countless times. Despite all of the deviations of what happened, there is a general timeline. Sometime during the months of June and July 1947, an aircraft landed in Mac Brazel’s ranch; Brazel proceeded to tell Sheriff George Wilcox. He sent a member of the Roswell Army Air Field base to look at the wreckage on Brazel’s ranch. This person took some of the debris back to the base for further inspection. On July 8, 1947, the newspapers published stories about how someone found a flying saucer in New Mexico. However, the government told the newspapers to report that it was merely a weather balloon that had crashed. After that, everybody simply accepted the story and dropped the topic.
