Becoming interested and informed in math can lead to lots of career opportunities as well.
Things that children learn are influential to what they experience later in their life. When students are introduced to a higher level at a younger age, it causes them to use their brains in a way that it may have never been used before. They can become interested in jobs involving math and can apply the higher thinking to jobs such as a mathematician, actuary, researcher, or financial advisor. It is often mistaken that becoming a math teacher is the only way to use the skills you learn in school. Problem solving itself is very valuable in simple everyday tasks. Simply deciding which route to take to work is one example. Time management is another valuable skill that will help you get jobs, stay on time, and be less stressed. One uncommon example is cooking. If you want to modify a recipe, being in an advanced math class can allow you to quickly create equations to do so. In this day and age, it would be uncommonly useful to do such things. Even if you didn’t get any higher than a high school education, you would have skill that you have developed throughout the years of higher level math. However, along with all the benefits of advanced math, students can become more stressed than other students. Often, the workload is larger than the typical math class in order to stay on top of things and on track. Students may become stressed and not have enough free time to relax. Being different and secluded from other students can also be hard for some kids. They may feel left out when others are conferring or checking answers with each other.
