In this paper, I will explore the topic of anabolic steroids. Over the years, anabolic steroids have been unfairly criticized in the media. There is a lack of evidence which can prove that steroids cause emence amount of damage to one’s body,as mainstream media is promoting. Steroids are used in various ways to help people with the recreational use that the media mainly uses to criticize the substance. In comparison to a few legal substances that people use and abuse, steroids? are less dangerous.It is nowhere near as dangerous compared to a few legal substances that people use and abuse everyday. Most athletes would do anything to get an edge on their competitor. In 2005, a man named Victor Conty, came forward with a list of athletes he helped bend the rules in professional sports. Victor Conty named over 250 pro athletes that he helped. The athletes were of all kinds, everyone from Olympians to baseball players. Hospitals have been using steroids to help their patients since the 1930’s The media has created a paradox because they are stating that if you are ill, hormones will help, but on the other hand, if you are a healthy person than steroids will kill you. What people really don’t understand is that steroids give you what you are willing to work for. Barry Bonds was one of the athletes named in the case and he didn’t just inject himself and break the homerun record, he had to put an emence amount of effort into trying to become the best. He had to use his natural skill along with anabolic steroids to advance himself to the point he is at now. The media also uses special cases and mentally ill people to further excel their agenda.
