As a whole, we need to stand against the traffickers and those who are involved. We need to implement a plan to stop trafficking and provide help for those who have been trafficked. While many believe the selling and trading of sex is only another job and therefore should be made legal and safe, others feel that even sex between consenting adults is wrong an exploitative. However, both sides agree that prostitution is equal to slavery when children and young people are involved because the work is hazardous and they cannot give legal consent. Human trafficking occurs worldwide and often involves transnational criminal organizations, violations of labor and immigration codes, and government corruption.

These ‘blurred lines’ lead to a prevalence of rape culture and victim blaming. Victim blaming and turning a blind eye to victims of rape and sexual assault cases is not only supporting rape culture but is also dangerous for the mental state of the victim. Rape and rape culture is a prevalent occurrence in modern American society. In America one out of every six women and one out of every 33 men have been a victim of a rape that was completed or attempted (“Who are the Victims?”). Unfortunately not many of these are recognized or even reported to the police.
Sex trafficking is the buying and selling of human beings for sexual purposes such as prostitution. The market for sex trafficking in India is ever growing and has become a serious social issue. Like other social problems, such as poverty and hunger, organisations have been established to prevent and address the trafficking of women and children in the sex work industry. Sex trafficking is critically important to address because it is closely linked with slavery; a practice which should be eradicated as it denies victims basic human rights which everyone is entitled to. Despite several implications such as corruption and mistrust cross-sectoral collaboration is a successful strategy to combat this problem because if united the individual organisations weaknesses can be improved on; Cross-sectoral collaboration therefore will bring out the best in all organisations.

The economic benefits of the sex trade industry encourage governments to overlook the negative repercussions and effects. The sex trade is also referred to as “human-trafficking;”The official definition for this is “the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation” (What is Human Trafficking, 2013). This is a chronic issue worldwide that will not happen if the police keep falling into bribery by the criminals who are running the industry. Although this is a very profitable business, innocent women and children being young as two or three are tricked, kidnapped, blackmailed, and even sold into sex slavery. The government needs to be reminded who inhuman and uncivilized this problem is and that it is all around us if we just pay closer attention.
Women involved in the practice feel forced to have a career in the sex industry. The legalization of prostitution will cause more pimps to recruit women into the practice and increase the number of women sold into human trafficking. Just because prostitution could be made legal in the United States does not mean that the number of women illegally sold against their free will would be lowered. It will only get higher. In order to supply the labor for the prostitution industry, human trafficking becomes worse when it focus on women, and children. It transfers to sex trafficking. Many women are victims of human trafficking work in brothels, a part of them work as Streetwalker. Some countries give the idea that prostitution should be legalized to reduce the rate of human trafficking and sex trafficking, but they are wrong. Because, if we pass the law for prostitution, human trafficking and sex trafficking will increase in order to supply prostitutes for prostitution industry.
