Did you know that when you have your cell phone too close to your head that you could be putting yourself at risk of tumors? There are a lot of studies debating on if that is a big part in most tumors. The labs and universities haven’t come up with a correct answer yet. According to my research, they are not safe, they have cause cancerous and noncancerous brain tumor. So how do you feel about radio frequency waves causing tumors? If you think that phones are safe, or unsafe, keep on reading for more information. Nevertheless, studies haven’t really proven anything saying if cell phones do or don’t cause brain tumors. The studies I researched on said that the radio frequency waves are causing tumors. Some tumors turn into cancer, even if you don’t think it will. The radio frequency is a huge problem in cell phones today. Especially since, we have had a huge increase in cell phone subscribers. Did you know that more than 303 million people have subscribed to cell phone use? That means 303 million more people have a higher chance of getting brain tumors and possibly cancer. Another thing about cell phones is you can use them to call for help if it’s needed. Like in a car wreck which usually occur to drivers on the phone. Texting, calling, even with a hands free device. The phone distracts the driver from the road. They don’t know what happened because they were too caught up in the conversation they were having. So if we would stay focused on what we were doing instead of our phones we would have less car crashes. Same thing with the people who are hit by cars, both, the person hit and the driver probably weren’t paying too much attention to the roads. Aren’t babies just adorable? Well those babies could have ADHD. When women who ... ... middle of paper ... ...get the help you need though. I still think that they are dangerous. Even though, nothing is proven yet. The whole point is to limit your time on cell phones. Not only are they a health threat in many different ways, but they also break the bonds that we have with others. Just think about this paper when you make your next call. Works Cited ProCon.org. "Cell Phones ProCon.org." ProCon.org. 24 Mar. 2014. Web. 10 Apr. 2014. Ornes, Stephen. "Are Cell Phones Safe?" Texting and Driving has been a huge factor in accidents. More and more cities are starting to make cell phone use illegal to prevent many life threatening accidents. A phone call and text message can wait. You never know as drivers what the people are doing around you are doing unless you are watching your surroundings. The driver might be a really good driver and might be paying some attention to the road while you are on your phone but the road needs all of the drivers attention so that prevention of accidents is at its
Texting/using a cell phone while operating a vehicle is one of the front runners in technology related deaths/injuries. Statistics show that 660,000 people per day attempt to use a cell phone while behind the wheel, and that 1.6 million of reported car crashes per year are linked to cell phones. Eleven adolescents lose their lives every day due to texting and driving (“Cell Phone Use While Driving”), these are young lives that are being cut short due to recklessness and a lack of concern for others and even themselves. This is what technology has done to society. It is obvious that people today believe that liking an Instagram picture or texting back their best friend is more important than another person’s safety and well being. People have begun to put others in danger in order for them to fulfill their own electronic addictions. Humans once loved and cared for each other, now they love and care for their cell
However, they could also save your life. Today, cellphones make it a lot easier to get help. If you are in trouble and need help all you have to do is say “Siri, call 911” on your cell phone. Instead of going to the police office after an incident you can report it while or even before it happens for immediate help. It wasn’t always that easy though. We used to not be able to get help before cell phones. “We had to literally call for help from our own voices instead of a cellphone” said marc Bodnick from /www.quora.edu/ they can be easily used for natural disasters, being attacked, or health emergencies as
In a world that is rapidly becoming faster paced, finding various means to keep up with the changing environment is a must. Cell phones are one of the most practical inventions of time that make this possible. However, the subtle effect they have on our culture today, their invasion of our privacy, and the possible health risks they may cause are reasons to reassess the value of this intriguing device. While cell phones may be valuable, they are also potentially harmful.
The new "glorious" invention of cell phones seems to make lives easier, but they aren 't as great as people make them out to be. Cell phones were first invented in the early 70s (Szumski 17) and have since evolved into a deadly weapon, causing all sorts of health and safety issues including cyberbullying and brain tumors. Cell phones have also been linked to behavioral problems in teens and children, even without the facts it is easy to look at this generation compared to 20 years ago. This generation is more worried about their phone rather than an actual human being. When walking and on their phone someone bumps into another person and drops their phone, they check to see if their phone is okay and then afterwards say sorry to the person.
The overwhelming data describes the details of the dangers involved when people use their cell phones whil...
It is undeniable that cellular technology has become main stream. “It was estimated that there were 92 million cell phone users in the US, a number growing by one million every month.” (Frumkin, Jacobson, Gansler & Thun 2001). The arrival and widespread use of cell phones has peaked interest of the health effects of radiofrequencies in the human body.
Not only does it put the driver of the car in danger, but it also puts the passengers and the surrounding cars at risk. Using a cell phone while driving has been proven to be just as dangerous as driving under the influence. At any given moment during the day, around 800,000 people are driving cars while using a hand-held device, which unfortunately puts everyone else at risk of a car crash. In the recent year, 21% of fatal car crashes involved the use of a cellular device (Prof. David J. Hanson, 1997-2015). Unfortunately, humans, especially teenagers, cannot put down their cell phones while they drive due to the many notifications they receive. They are addicted. This points back to how the cell phones are affecting the mental health of humans. In 2007, Bailey Goodman, a seventeen-year-old, was killed along with four of her friends in a car accident. Goodman

Brain tumors and eye cancer are two health concerns of cell phones that are currently under investigation. Many people have heard rumors about whether or not cell phones are responsible for these health problems, but answers never seem to be found.
Since the telephone’s invention in 1876, it has made human communication easier and added to the convenience of life. Being able to talk to a person that is hundreds, or even thousands of miles away has enhanced our forms of communication. However, when the invention of the first telephone came about, it was only for the elite and required enormous and heavy equipment in order for it to be operable, thus many did not own one. They eventually increased in popularity, which led to a new innovation, the cellular phone, which came about in 1973. However, still only a handful of people had them. The first cell phone was of considerable size and was not available for most until around 1992. Today, there are close to 6.8 billion cell phone subscriptions currently in the world, and the majority of phones are considered smart phones, cell phones that integrate email, internet, and apps on a touch screen handheld device. Currently 78% of all American teens, ages 12 through 17, own a cell phone (Mary Madden 2). Cellphones usage has been connected with extreme health issues. As a matter of fact, high usage of cell phones, defined as 2,000 hours of usage spread across many years, has been shown to be linked with brain tumors in a Swedish study (Christian Nordqvist). According to Christian Nordqvist, a researcher, “85 of the 905 people who had a malignant tumor were high users of cell phones - they started using mobile phones a long
Research also points to an increased risk of multiple types of cancer (Hardell 40). Epidemiologic evidence in the last few years claims that mobile phone usage and risks of brain tumors and other types, such as salivary gland tumors in the adult head have grown tremendously
First of all, using mobile phone has the negative effect of affecting the health. The scientific data are exploring the relationship between radiation from mobile phones and brain disease. "Research carried out by scientists in Finland suggests radiation from mobile phones causes changes in the brain. It is the first time that scientists have looked at the effects of mobile phone radiation on human cells rather than those of rats"(BBC NEWS, 19 Jun 02 | Health, "Fresh fears over mobile phones"). From above we must understand that research did find a higher incidence of brain tumors on the same side as phone usage.
Cell phones are one of the greatest inventions in the world. We can imagine how life would be without cell phones. Cell phones are very handy; it can make our communication easier. Also cell phones can provide us with everything, like relaxing with music, browsing the internet, chatting on social networking sites or playing games. Unfortunately cell phones are not risk free. Using cell phones involve emission of EMR electromagnetic radiation, which is a dangerous sort of energy wave, is produce by modern appliances that surround us in everyday lives. The worst causes of EMR are cell phones. These days especially children are getting addicted to cell phones. When you are talking on your phone, there are microwaves going through your head. There has been a study on the development of brain tumors and the amount of time you take on the phone due to radio waves. However, people do not realize the consequences and negative effects cell phones cause. It causes diseases and disorders and other harmful damages to our body and health. Nevertheless, cell phones are also not dangerous.
To conclude i would like to say that regulatory agencies have concluded cell phones are safe, cell phone radiation is non-ionizing and studies indicate that there are long term risks but we need more data on intense sustained usage, and cell phones can be used more safely by only using them when signal strength is strong and the transmitter doesn’t have to transmit as much energy.
