Flowers, Inc. will need to develop an appropriate risk response to each of these risks, in order to reduce the possibility of damage to the company.
Risk 1: Damages to east cost call centers
If a natural disaster hit any of the call centers which caused damage, it could have major impacts on the company. Unfortunately, natural disasters take place often, and there is no way to prevent them. This is why Flowers, Inc. must have a plan to mitigate the damage it can do to the company. There are two areas that this risk can impact: physical assets and human assets.
Physical assets, such as the call center building or equipment contained therein, can be damaged or destroyed by a hurricane. In order to lower damage costs for the company, they should have an inspector come out regularly to make sure that building codes and safety are up to par. This will lessen the chance of the building being damaged, because it will allow for any structural instability to be found and fixed before a hurricane hits. Additionally, the company should have insurance on all building and equipment, to help lessen the costs if it is damaged or destroyed.
Human assets are the employees of the call centers. The company will have to help protect the employees who are on duty when the hurricane hits. Employees should regularly practice hurricane drills, so that they know where to go within the call center when it hits. Ideally, the call center will have a “safe room” towards the center of the building with no windows. In addition to hurricane drills, all employees should be given a way to contact the company after the hurricane. This will allow off-duty employees to call in and assure that they are safe.

Additionally, the company should consider boosting their social responsibility and begin a water conservation campaign. This would especially be useful for the New Mexico call center, where they are governed by water conservation laws. Bringing awareness to water issues will help conserve some of the water that is needed to grow flowers.

Management accounting in organisation is very important for decision-making and to make the business more efficient and therefore increasing its profits. Hurricane preparation is the most important thing in staying safe during a hurricane. Through technology we are able to track these hurricanes and have time to get ready for them. Recovery takes a lot of time and work, but safety and injury prevention should be your number one concern.
"The next step is to determine the impact that the threat could have on the organization. It is important for auditors to understand that not all threats will have the same impact. This is because each system in the organization most likely will have a different value (i.e., not all systems in the organization are worth the same or regarded in the same way). For instance, to evaluate the value of a system, auditors should identify the processes performed by the system, the system's importance to the company, and the value or sensitivity of the data in the system" (Edmead). To understand the important of a risk helps point out the businesses weaknesses. It is important that the degree of impact caused by different risks are determined. The
Like Brown told CNN’s Larry King, “I must say, this storm is much bigger than anyone expected.” What should we have to know in case of an emergency, especially if you live in a hurricane evacuation zone. According to Live Science, you have to start with a hurricane plan with your family and find out your zone and local evacuation route. We have to keep in mind the hurricanes are very powerful tropical storms with heavy rains, strong winds and that a hurricane can damage buildings, cars, homes, etc. First of all, always have a hurricane survival kit, during hurricane warning and never ignore evacuation orders. Equally important, prepared your home with flood insurance, buy emergency supplies, plan for your pets, and don’t forget to search for resources for more information about hurricane planning. According to Erik Salna, “Everyone who lives in an area affected by hurricanes needs to take personal responsibility and accountability to be prepared… It has to become a way of life, something you naturally do.” In discussion of how to be prepared in case of a hurricane, one controversial issue has been the disaster of hurricane Katrina. On the one hand, we need to keep in mind that is up to us to try to be prepared in case of a hurricane warning. On the other hand, if you ignored evacuation orders you may regretted later on in life, don’t
Factors such as lost or damage of lives, property, financial districts, and necessary needs are considered in which determines the hazards that pose the most threat to specific location.

Terrrorism has been an issue for the United States long before 9/11, but the savage attack on that day brought terrorism front and center and therefore made the issue top priority for the leadership. To date, the crime of terrorism causes many debates, such as, how to deter events from occurring again, but one section of terrorism that is somewhat neglected is the risks for first responders in preparing and responding to attacks. The crime of terrorism has many layers and first responders are the first to hit the ground when an attack strikes and the risk of them being harmed, maimed or even killed are extremely
to reduce the number of fatalities in serious storms is to give people more warning time for them to go to a safer place. Many times in hurricanes people are told to evacuate there city or state. The more time that people have to do this the more that people will do this. Throughout the entire hurricane season meteorologists keep a close watch on the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans. They examine pictures of the area taken by satellites, and also take information on air pressure, wind speed, and temperatures.
...cal consequences for survivors of future catastrophes. Communities should have a well prepared plan in dealing with disasters such as Hurricane Ivan. Unfortunately, Hurricane Ivan was the culprit of major damage among many communities, and many lives were lost. Of course there are no fingers to point because it is a force of the earth that caused this tragedy, but every day we are learning of better methods to prepare us for any disaster. It seems like we hear of a major natural storm outbreak almost every month, but every time it seems like we are more prepared. Scientists and engineers have teamed up to ensure that our architecture and safety plans are the best they can be. We're also developing technology that can help us to detect these incidents faster and earlier than before, so we hope that these incidents can be reduced to a minimum in the future.

Discussions regarding financial markets and natural disasters often center on risk management, highlighting the extreme losses than can occur. As risk management progresses into companies all over the world, determining the amount of risk present, and adjusting those risks in the best way suited for future objectives must be taken into consideration. Researchers are focusing on ways to calculate and diminish uncertainty, as well as detect, mitigate, and transfer the risk associated with over-industrializing and expansion of companies. Organizations must establish procedures that monitor the uncertainty of their operations. Coca-Cola Enterprises serves as a model by focusing on the prevention aspect of risk management, rather than reacting and responding after natural disasters have occurred.

Risk Management is the process of identifying, analyzing and responding to risk factors throughout the life of a project and in the best interests of its objectives (Stanleigh, 2015). This paper is focused on the trends and methods of managing risks in a project. It also analyzes different ways of mitigating risks in a project and why risk management is important in an information technology (IT) environment.

Not only knowing basic information, knowing how to prepare, and seeing how Hurricane Katrina was so destructive should help the forty five million citizens that live on hurricane prone coastlines prepare for anything like this in the future.
