Throughout the book Slaughterhouse Five the author Kurt Vonnegut portrays a strong anti-war theme. Slaughterhouse Five is a book about Billy and his life after being abducted by Tralfamadorians, aliens who travel through time. Billy becomes unstuck in time and relives all of the moments of his life good and bad. Much of his life is during WWII and after the war. The book shows how he copes with the war. Billy internally struggles with many of the book’s developments and how he reacts helps get across Vonnegut’s points on war. One of the largest examples of this is in the first chapter.
