For ten years’ psychologists have tried to prove the theory that anthropomorphism was a cause of Gender Identity Disorder, a disorder in which a human may not identify as just 100% human and believe they are entirely or partly something else. People who suffer from this do not include transgender or genderqueer, for they know what gender they are and know why they identify as so. But wait, what is anthropomorphism? Anthropomorphism is the adding of human characteristics and attributes to non-human entities, for example; animals. A common misconception following anthropomorphism being derived from GID is spirituality. A well-known spirituality common to those practicing anthropomorphism is Therianthropy. Therianthropy is the spiritual belief of your soul not being fully human, belief of an animal soul trapped inside a human body or simply they believe they were an animal in their past life. These individuals were also tested by professionals, but the results came back crystal clear, Therianthropy was not disorder related; just like anthropomorphism. It is proven that anthropomorphism in humans is not from the cause of a mental disability or a missing link; for it has simply been proven as a way of expression. …show more content…

There are even people who create animal, human-like characters, these individuals are mostly known as furries. Now, I can hear your thoughts reeling, furries? What are furries? Or maybe, why is this student doing a paper on furries? I’m not, I’m simply explaining why people take part in the anthropomorphic community, and the results of it being caused by those with unbalanced mental stabilities.
