Hate is a strong feeling and is it so easy to elicit to others in America today. In American society, certain groups are bashed and hated for unjust reasons and some unknown reasons due to the bandwagon effect. Just as Muslims are hated because of Isis and media for the fake and non-truthful companies the Anthropomorphic fandom receives the same treatment. Just because a rumor was spawned that furries, a common name for followers of this fandom, take part in bestiality or sexualize animals, are mostly gay and are commonly called autistic, they are now the most well-known source for hate spewing and death threats. Most of this is simply ignorance and prejudice.. With that ignorance also comes refusal to learn and change one's mind. It is far easier to believe a myth or make an assumption than it is to read, research, meet people, and get to know them. That seems to be a part of human nature, the "us vs. them" mentality that causes people to hate other people for no valid reason. It's what has driven hate throughout the centuries whether it was against black people, Jews, the Irish, the Chinese, the Japanese, Mexicans, Muslims, etc. It's a hate for anybody viewed as "different" with no interest to find similarities. Sometimes that hate is driven by a perverse sense of entertainment and it is just wrong we furries are no different than a normal human. The world needs to learn that diversity is not bad and should be accepted. And for the criminals that use the fandom to justify their heinous acts of moral disregard, they too are shunned by the real members of the fandom and we in no way support their actions and would also like to see an end to their
