Armbrust, M., Fox, A., Griffith, R., Joseph, A. D., Katz, R., Konwinski, A., ... & Zaharia, M. (2010). A view of cloud computing. Communications of the ACM, 53(4), 50-58.
The article introduced the definition of cloud computing as both the applications delivered as services over the Internet and the data centers that provide those services. The article also compared the cloud computing with conventional data storage in many aspects. The author concluded that cloud computing is superior because it simplified operation and increased utilization via resource virtualization.
The author successfully compared the cloud computing with conventional data storage with the help of a graph of computing process and a chart of the advantages of each method. Detailed calculations made by the author are also convincing for illustrating the efficiency of cloud computing. The article helped people to understand why cloud computing was better than conventional way of computing.
Ryan, M. D. (2011). Cloud computing privacy concerns on our doorstep. Communications of the ACM, 54(1).
Cloud computing raises privacy concerns because the service provider has access to all the data, and could accidentally or deliberately disclose it and use it for unauthorized purposes. The article gave an example of such problem by discussing about the conference management systems. Information of the conferences might be disclosed to unrelated people, causing unwelcome consequences. The article also suggested several ways to prevent the security problem, such as processing encrypted data in the cloud.
One thing the article didn’t do well is that it didn’t introduce enough background on cloud computing and jumped into the privacy concerns of c...

Jackson, K. R., Ramakrishnan, L., Muriki, K., Canon, S., Cholia, S., Shalf, J., ... & Wright, N. J. (2010, November). Performance analysis of high performance computing applications on the amazon web services cloud. Cloud Computing Technology and Science, 10, 159-168.
The article evaluated the performance of high performance computing (HPC) applications on the amazon web services EC2. It showed that amazon EC2 is slower than conventional computing system. The internal communication of EC2 severely limits the performance and causes significant variability.
Good charts and graphs were used to illustrate the poor performance of EC2 compared to conventional computing system. The article made people wonder about cloud computing by casting doubt on the performance of cloud computing. It is useful for people to understand the tradeoff of cloud computing technique.
Today, cloud services are widely used by people around the world in purpose of business, government, and personal use. With cloud services, users use resources - could be storage, computional capability, or software- from cloud service provider mediated by Internet. Doing computational work with cloud services involves a number of computers to do the large-scale works, therefore it usually called by distributed system over Internet (reference, paper?). Cloud service also offers a large-scale service where users only pay for what they use (on-demand). Therefore, companies migrate to business-to-business cloud as they don’t have to spend money building intial cost for their computational business. For instance, instead of building their own storage, network, cooling, they could just “rent” resource from cloud provider for the lower cost. Besides money benefits, cloud resources also able to be shared by multiple...
“Google and “Amazon” were the original firms that provided cloud computing services. “Google and “Amazon’s” analysts said that cloud computing was “on-demand access to virtual information technology resources” (Budriene, Zalieckaite, 2012, p.119). The cloud is simple, it allows businesses to access IT resources over the Internet. Budriene and Zalieckaite (2012), says “Cloud computing is a new conceptual paradigm for business which combines into a single environment not only applications, architecture and business models, but a variety of professionals for performance of common business tasks in the Internet medium,” (p. 120).
To understand how cloud computing can be of value to an organization, it is important to us that we understand the cloud and its components. There are three different types of cloud computing services referred to as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS). IaaS delivers cloud computing infrastructure servers, storage, network and operating systems as an on-demand service. SaaS is about software deploying over the Internet. PaaS allows a creation of web applications without the complexity of buying and maintaining the software and infrastructure. In this paper, I will suggest that Innovartus Technology Inc should use IaaS as a replacement for PaaS because IaaS is a rapidly developing field with resources such as better services, cost variability, utility pricing model and dynamic scaling.
System performance is one of the most important metrics to measure system efficiency. Organizations that need high-performance computing such as scientific ones can use cloud computing to perform their tasks faster. In the cloud there are many machines works together in parallel to provide high processing speed. Now, most of organizations use only 15 percent of their machines capacity. Moreover, cloud computing provides services for data-intensive applications such as data mining. Salesforce.com which provides cloud CRM applications says that the performance is faster five times comparing to traditional cline-server infrastructure.
Cloud is the result of a decade research in the field of distributing computing , utility computing, virtualization , grid computing and more recently software, network services and web technology which is changeable evolution on demanding technology and services also as looking to the rapid growth of cloud computing which have changed the global computing infrastructure as well as the concept of computing resources toward cloud infrastructure. The important and interest of cloud computing increasing day by day and this technology receives more and more attention in the world (Jain, 2014) the mostly widely used definition of cloud computing is introduced by NIST “as a model for enabling a convenient on demand network access
The notion of Cloud computing has not only reshaped the field of distributed systems but also undamentally changed how businesses utilize computing today. While Cloud computing provides many advanced features, it still has some shortcomings such as the relatively high operating cost
Cloud computing services provide a multitude of benefits for businesses of every size. Cloud computing services offer “flexible computing power and data storage, as well as data management, messaging, payment and other services that can be used together or individually (Laudon 2014). The list of benefits is long and varied. Cloud computing services are universal. Anyone and everyone can use the system. Cloud computing is cost effective. There is no maintenance fee, but rather a business pays for what they use. The amount of storage space is unlimited. This is a boon to companies who cannot accurately predict data usage. The ability to access private and public clouds ensures stability and security.
The origins of cloud computing dates back to the 1960s around the time computers were introduced. It was unknown specifically what cloud computing was until 1997 where Ramnath Chellappa, information systems professor, used the term “cloud computing” and placed a definition behind it (Cantu, 2011). After the introduction of what cloud computing does companies began switching to using these services to benefit their own company. Statistically, “in 2009, revenue for cloud services was just over 58.6 billion” (Cantu, 2011). The growth of cloud services is capturing more of the market where in 2011 cloud computing accounting is opening up on the global market at 2.3% with plenty of room to grow (Cantu, 2011).
During the past years a new solution appeared in the IT field, Cloud computing, and it is Impossible to overlook it, in light of the fact that Cloud computing permits organizations to outsource information, electronically mail, folders and different applications through virtual stages through the medium of servers

The word "cloud" is used to represent the internet and other communications systems. Cloud computing is the result of an evolution of the widespread adoption of virtualization, service-oriented architecture, autonomic, and utility computing in the past, telecommunications companies mainly gave simply dedicated, point-to-point data circuits to their users. Starting from the 1990's, virtual private network services was included in their contributions. It made the telecommunication companies offer equally improved services whereby cutting down on cost as well as using resources effectively.
This essay is fundamentally about what is cloud computing, types of cloud computing and its history, risks, disadvantages, advantages and future impacts.
Cloud computing is the progression of other computing technologies such as paral-lel computing, distributed computing, and grid computing. Its main principle is to disseminate the computing grind stones to distributed computers. Majority of us still use the PC’s and laptops to cache the data and files, sharing of data and files, and to send emails. If our pc’s diverse...
Cloud computing technology is a very known and popular paradigm in the field of Information technology. It is an incipient computing model which emanates from grid computing which is resulting into an emerging paramount concept in Information Technology. Vast number of operating systems and virtual servers are mutually dependent through the internet and allow sharable resources with each other. This generates expeditious and efficient computing speed. The concept of cloud computing is predicated on the time sharing of expensive resources and benefits of the providence of scale. The word Cloud originates from the well-known cloud shape which is expressed as a network in architectural system diagrams. Cloud computing applies traditional supercomputing to provide tremendous throughput computing power. Cloud computing allows user to execute simulated applications on a virtual server. In this report, we discuss about cloud computing technologies for example “Distributed File System (DFS), Map-Reduce, and Big tab”. [3] This cloud computing architecture is designed for, geographic information Services which contains functional utilization, perceptions, benefits, computing reserving data and infrastructure layers. We also discuss about software backdrops called as “D cloud”. D-Cloud provides a condition for analysis on the cloud elements using a particular structural configuration and implements large number of evaluations automatically as per the scenario. We also discuss about combining Peer to peer systems and technologies related cloud computing in order to construct a blueprint of the architecture and establish PC2, an open and free cloud computing platform.
