She was working on the same base, Puritanism, as her intended messages. In the end, it is obviously illustrated that she was a Puritan woman who wrote about her life and struggles between society and religion. Being the first female author in England's North American colonies to be published, she frowned upon for her writings. During that period, only men could be considered great writers. She writes about her father, loving husband, children, And grandchild. When it comes to poems we notice the puritan influence; And it came to the role women played through Puritan society, it can be expected the women resented the husbands for they were considered more than the women. However, In Bradstreet case, she doesn’t resent her husband for leaving her with all the household needs. She just misses him and wants him back to her as Throughout "Letter to Her Husband, Absent upon Public Employment," she states how she feels lost when her husband is not around and that life is always better when he is around. On the other hand, she expresses her religious beliefs. For instance, throughout her lifetime, God helps her attain the things needed. He also takes these things away, as a test of her faith in God. Bradstreet shows her view when she believes in the ultimate faith in God, even while her house is burning down. She didn’t hold on to sadness and anger as most of us would.
