Anne Boleyn
Anne Boleyn was a very important, if not the most important character in
Anne of a Thousand Days. The way that she behaves, and the decisions that she makes, effect the way that the ends. For example, Anne could have refused to marry Henry, and could have run away. These actions and decisions would have dramatically changed the outcome of the story, and for that matter history.
Anne has many different personality traits which seem to change over time. At first she seemed rebellious. This characteristic emerged when Anne found out that King Henry wanted to marry her. Over time this rebellion slowly disappeared. Soon after Anne became completely consumed with the becoming the
Queen of England. Alas, her second trait shows: lust for power. Last is love.
Love is the emotion that plays the most important role in the life of
Anne Boleyn. Anne has many passions for many things in the course of her life.
Her first love was with the court chancellor, it was abruptly ended when Henry decided that he had other plans for Anne's life. He carried out these plans by not allowing Anne to marry the man that she truly loved. Anne was bitter about this decision that she had no say in. Anne's second love was the love of being queen. Being queen seems to be one of her childhood dreams, which is understandable, because many girls dream of being a princess or a queen when they get older. Anne's final and strongest love was the love for her daughter.
Elizabeth was the most important thing in Anne's life, and she would have done anything that she could for her daughter. For instance, she fought with Henry many times for the sake of Elizabeth, and the most important is that she chose
Anne’s thoughts and perspectives of stuff she encountered with, or the struggles she endured weren’t shown in depth in the film. Her curiosity and wonders of countless stuff weren’t shown to the best of ability. Anne was a young girl figuring out many new things in life, in the film however her thoughts aren’t really elaborated. Making the film less interesting, considering the book is a diary full of her encounters of war and the disruptive life that she constantly envisaged throughout her life. She says, “What does that matter? I want to write, but more than that, I want to bring out all kinds of things that lie buried deep in my heart. (20 June, 1942). This quote accentuates the way she wants to write stuff, in the film however she doesn’t
Anne's optimistic personality created the hope that she had for her future. Each day she could do nothing but just hope that one day everything will turn around and be better. In The Diary Of Anne Frank play, she expressed, "It'll pass, maybe not for hundreds of years, but someday..." Deep down inside, she had the hope that all of the disgusting things that Hitler alongside his army performed, would all vanish one day. She knew for the most part that the hatred may never go away, but imagining that it might, made things at least a bit better. Anne's situation was pure negativity, with almost nothing good about it. The only good thing that may have come out of it for her were the relationships that she created with everyone in hiding with her. From the Van Daans, to Miep, she bonded amazing friendships with each person involved. Aside from that, Anne's personality stuck out more than anyone's because of the hope that she had, in such a terrible situation.
In the case of the overweight child, he is not only robbed, but he is also judged and discriminated against based on looks. Legality aside, not only is this child robbed of his property, he is also robbed of the character growth he would have received if he had been educated and taught to share. By being taught to share he is not only learning how to treat everyone as equals, but also that true pleasure is the lasting pleasure one receives in sharing happiness with others, and not the momentary pleasure of having all the happiness for oneself. This child is also being subjected to judgement based on looks. The ice cream thief looks at this child and assumes that he is overweight because he eats too much and therefore won’t miss another snack. There are multiple factors that can cause childhood obesity, and none of them are healthy. Can one always tell why someone is overweight just by looking at them? Overeating and lack of exercise are factors. There are also medical, socioeconomical, or psychological factors involved. This overweight child could be just as poor and malnourished as the three waifs. Poverty and obesity of this kind are known to have negative psychological effects, especially in children. If a child was singled out, judged based on looks and had their food stolen in school it would be called bullying. Depending on the mental state
Elizabeth grew up like most royal children. She had many tutors who taught her. She was very successful in English and music. Elizabeth loved music and could play the lute. Elizabeth also loved to dancing and watch plays. The arts increased in her time. This was when William Shakespeare and Christopher Marlow began their famous careers. I told you why Anne had felt this way during her ordeal, and what this reveals about her character and her views about life. Anne is a strong and heroic young girl who has a heart for others and she is very compassionate towards others. Which is a great quality to have in that time period she was going through? No one could have done it better than Anne. She helped people look at the good in the situations she was never the one mention the negative things. You think how you would react to this situation.
