In the wortld there is almost always a middle school lesson that focuses on the Holocaust. There are many titles that surround the Holocaust. Many things relate to Hitler and World War II. Also a common method for learning about the Holocaust is studying Anne Frank.
Anne Frank was a young girl that was Jewish. She was normal and had an entertaining life. When Hitler came into power the Frank family was in Amsterdam. Anne's sister, Margot, got a call-up notice. That meant Margot had to register with the goverment where she lived. Otto Frank, their father, then took the family into hiding. They lived in a spot Anne called the secret annexe. Also there was another family that eventually lived with them, and an elderly man eventually came into the annexe as well. The Van Pelse family was the family living there. In their family, they had only one son. They were surviving with false ration cards that an ally of theirs, Miep, got them.
Later on, the Gustapo, police, had found them, and they were sent to a camp. It was a mild camp, a mere waypoint. There was food, schools, and alright barracks. They were then selected because of their criminal status to go on to Aushowitz, an execution camp. Men and Women were seperated whenever they first got to the camp. Then the elderly and children were divided out. Those people, the ones who couldn't work, were sent to the gad chambers to be killed. It wasn't long before Anne and Margot contacted Scabbies, a contagious disease that slowly eats away at the skin infected. Once it was apparent that they were sick, Anne and Margot were sent to Bergen-Belsen. Mrs. Frank was left alone at Aushowitz. She died soon after. To put it simply, she was strucken with grief. Bergen-Belsen also housed Anne's frien...

.... If people even looked Jewish they would be punished. Hitler believed in Arayans, what he considered to be a superior race. They had blonde hair and blue eyes. He even had plans to build strictly Arayan communities right by concentration camps. Bombs hit many cities at night and killed many people. Women would lose all their family to the war effort, leaving them alone. When the Allies got the upper hand Germany evacuated all women that didn't serve in the army and that lived in surrounding countries back to Germany. They left their homes to most likely never return again.
In retrospect, I think that we learn all these things for many reasons. One of which being to mourn the lives lost. Another being to learn from previous mistakes. Finally I think we do it to be grateful for the equality and freedom in our lives. That is why I think we learn about the Holocaust.
Anne Frank was a thirteen year old Jewish girl who was forced into hiding in 1942. Her family and another family, the Van Daans, hid in the back of her father, Otto Frank's office building in what they called the "Secret Annex" for the next two years, until they were discovered by a Nazi group called the Gestapo and arrested. It was during her time in the Secret Annex that Anne wrote in a diary that she had named Kitty, telling it of her experiences in the the annex, reported the position of the war and its most memorible events, and shared her personal feelings on the situation. The diary became an outlet throug...
The year is 1942; the Frank family went into a hiding place. It was placed behind a door that was concealed behind a movable book shelf; there were 8 people up there, the Van Pels, Fritz Pfeffer, and Anne Frank’s family. Before this, Anne Frank was a normal teenager, going to movies with friends, and other normal things teens did in that time. The Germans would eventually take over the Netherlands and change Jewish people’s lives drastically. After this change; the Jews must wear the Star of David on their clothing with them everywhere so people know they’re Jewish, walk everywhere, only shop in stores specifically meant for the Jews, schools were changed so Jew...
Anne Frank was born in 1929 just at the beginning of turmoil in German society. At the beginning of her life, Frank’s family was a relatively normal German-Jewish family living just outside of Frankfurt. Her father, Otto Frank, was a business owner and her sister, Margot Frank, was three years older than her. They moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1933 because of the threat to their lives because of their Jewish Heritage.
To start with, Anne Frank was 13 when the Holocaust began. About three years after the war was launched, it was necessary for the Frank family to go into hiding. Anne had a positive outlook on life. “In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart,” (Goodrich and Hackett 540). The Frank family was with the Van Daans and Mr. Dussel in hiding. Having so many people in the annex, it got very crowded and it was difficult for everyone to get along. Her family and the Van Daans were arrested in 1944, about 25 months after they went into hiding. Margot and Anne went to Bergen-Belsen, Otto and Edith Frank went to Auschwitz. Mrs. Frank died in Auschwitz from starvation. Anne and Margot ended up dying
...her and Margot Frank were killed by illness. Anne and Margot Frank died just a couple weeks before they would have been freed by the Amenuans, Anne Frank fied when she was 15 years old.
Anne Frank also known as Annelies Marie Frank was a sixteen year old girl who got murdered during the Holocaust. She was born in the city of Frankfurt in Germany to her parents Otto and Edith Frank. Anne Frank had an older sister who was three years older than she was and her name was Margot Betti Frank. The Franks were known as a very liberal family who were also classified as a middle class family since their ancestors lived in Germany. In 1933 the Franks decided to move towards Amsterdam since Germany was being overruled by the Nazis. While the family had adjusted to Amsterdam, Otto Frank was really focused on his business since he was new into the city. Anne and Margot were also getting adjusted to the school system and when they were well adjusted they started to have friends who were Jewish and non Jewish. Six years later which was in 1939, Anne’s and Margot’s grandmother decided to join them in Amsterdam as well and be reunited with her two beautiful nieces. In March, 1940 a horrible trajedy happened Amsterdam which was that Amsterdam had been attacked by the Nazis who overrul...
The plot for the story was for Anne and her family to hide from the Germans until the war was over. Hiding was hard for the Franks and Van Daans since they had to be extremely quiet when using things and living in the “Secret Annexe.” Those families hid there for 25 months.
The Holocaust tends to be a bitter memory and an unpleasant subject to discuss. Although this event took place many years ago, repercussions are still present in the twenty first century. Especially in Germany, the Holocaust not only influences patriotism, but it also influences education and immigration policies. In contrast to other countries where nationalism is common, Germany has been forced to lessen the sense of nationalism in order to dispose false beliefs some individuals have of German racism. By allowing people from other countries to become German citizens, Germany avoids transmitting the sense of being a better and a cleaner race. A further sector influenced by the Holocaust is the education system. Approaches to teach about this event are difficult since the Holocaust is a sensitive issue and continues having vital importance in numerous families. Although the Holocaust continues conveying negative influences, the Holocaust also led to positive medical and technological improvements. In fact, numerous improvements are unknowingly implemented in societies today. Therefore, the Holocaust is one of the most horrific and influencing events in history whose repercussions are still felt in Germany today. However, in spite of the horrific occurrences, the associated medical findings and technological improvements make it intricate to look at the Holocaust as plainly evil. Thus, societies should view the Holocaust with a broader perspective.
During the holocaust many woman showed fortitude. One in particular helped one of the most known woman today, Anne Frank. Miep Gies is a woman known for her modesty and courage acts during the holocaust. Miep Gies was born February 15, 1909 in Vienna, Austria. Her parent sent her to the Netherlands, she later married a man name Jan Gies. Miep got a job at Otto Frank’s Opekta Company. She worked as his secretary with three other employees: Johannes Kleiman, Bep Voskuijl, and Victor Kugler.
The Holocaust was an extremely horrific period of history. Millions were killed and lost everything, including money, family, and dignity. However, it has taught many lessons. We can study it today to make sure nothing like it ever happens again.
Almost everyone has heard the tragic story of Anne Frank, a young Jewish girl that died in a concentration camp during World War II, but how did her brave, widely spread story come to an end. Anne Frank and her family lived in a “Secret Annex” in the building of her father’s, Otto Frank’s, work building. The Franks along with the van Pels and Fritz Pfeffer, lived in hiding for a little over two years together until they were found and arrested by the German Gestapo. The Gestapo otherwise known as Geheime Staatspolizei or Secret State Police arrested the group of Jewish people on August 4, 1944. They were taken to Westerbork(a transit camp), the three women were then sent to Auschwitz and later to Bergen-Belsen. Otto Frank, Anne’s father, was the only member from the “Secret Annex” to
In the story anne frank, which took place in the 1940’s, the frank’s and the van daan’s are hiding in the secret rooms of mr.frank’s business and are helped by miep,a dutch woman at the age of 20, and mr,krauler who helps by making sure mr.frank’s business from going under. The 1940’s were a time of panic and grief for people of the jewish religion and others, but the diary of anne frank shows us that even during hard times such as this one people still showed courage, compassion and sacrifice.
Anne Frank was in the secret annex for about two years. The Frank family entered the annex on July 6, 1942 and was raided on August 4, 1944. On July 5, 1942 Margot received an official summons to report to a nazi work camp. The very next day the Franks went into hiding in a secret attachment ( secret annex) behind Otto Frank’s jam factory. There were ten people in total living the annex. Anne frank’s life in the annex was not easy she had to keep silent all day. The residents could only use the w.c. (wash coslet) after all the workers left. To make it even worse, they had to divide food for about a single family into enough for ten people. The only one who survived the war and was Otto frank. The only way the people in the annex could get food and news was by Miep Gies and Kleiman. The residents of the annex did not step out of that room until August 4, 1944. On August 4, 1944 the secret annex was raid by German soldiers that were acting on a tip from a dutch informant. After the raid most of the people were shipped to Westbrook then onto Auschwitz. Most of the residents died in
Anne Frank was a Jewish girl that lived in Amsterdam during World War II. She was hiding in her father's warehouse. They lived there for two years with the Van Daan family; with one child. The Franks and Van Daans resided there for more than two years before they were captured and sent to concentration camps around Europe. One night a thief broke into the building. They were discovered. A few months went by before they were captured. The thief gave the police their location so he would not go to jail for the break in. All of the Frank and Van Daan family died except for Otto Frank, Anne's father. Anne left behind a diary that she used to keep track of their day to day experiences in the "Secret Annex". In The Diary of Anne Frank by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, she said that "In
We can learn about the Holocaust by examining the day to day experiences of one victim. We can learn many things just by one victims experience, such as how they lived, what they could and couldn’t do, for example, they could not ride automobiles but could ride the ferries, they couldn’t go to the movies, go to school, play any school activities. Anne Frank’s diary entries show us about the way individuals respond in time of chaos or danger, for example when one of then was out buying some things they needed and the Nazi police was doing a rousting and was going to look for any Jews out, they were extremely worried. The reacted fast and hid before Nazis soldiers captured them and took them to concentration camp like most of the Jews were.
