Society is dead: We have retreated into the I World Andrew Sullivan’s article Society is dead, talks about how society as a whole is so wrapped up into electronics. Sullivan states in the article, “New York’s night life was pretty dead but, the day time was very insane because of the loud”, feeling like the usage of electronic is causing things to become dead to society. He says while walking around the busy city of New York where theres always commotion and loud chatter is not that same and all he sees is white wires hanging from the people’s ears. When having had a stress filled day music alone will help take my mind off the situation. Electronics and music can very well be a positive thing when you are somewhere by yourself and you do not know anybody by putting headphones in can put you in your comfort zone and you're no long worried about others around you! Music and electronics can be quit motivational when taking a test, certain songs can easily help you get your nerves under control. Music is also great when needing help expressing your feelings in a non-verbal way. For example, if you’re in a state of sadness you could listen to songs explaining how you feel, making you feel not as alone in a way, it can always put you in a mood of joy, upbeat songs that make you want to dance and sing out loud. Music to an extent can make your day a whole lot better. As with me I listen to my favorite song every morning for a little motivation to do my best throughout the day. Sullivan says, “Music was once the preserve of the living room or the concert hall. It was sometimes solitary but it was primarily a shared experience, something that brought people together, gave them the comfort of knowing that others too understand the pleasure of a Brahms symphony or that Beatles album”. Even though, technology is in the picture you can still bring families together; share common interests and let the older folks know how the younger generation get down with the latest dance songs!
