Analyzing The Short Story 'The Scream'

My artwork drawing is based on the short story “The Scream”. This story is about a girl named Eliza who is now, for the first time, in drama class. Eliza hates drama class, she thinks people will make fun of her because she is not good at drama or the fact that she is tall, bony and has eczema. On one half of my art, you can see there are clouds that are raining on a hand of a girl with lizard skin and cracks on it. In the story Todd Zudder, the antagonist of the story, makes Eliza feel even more uncomfortable that Todd is in her class. This is because at Eliza’s old school Todd had pushed her down the stairwell from the fifth floor, because of Todd Zudder Eliza is who she is now and how she feels. Well, that is one of the examples we can use to show how Eliza feels. When Ms.Draginda came in she told everyone to take their shoes off and sit in a circle. Eliza thought if her socks had a hole in them or if they were matching. At that point, we can see and understand that Eliza feels insecure and anxious. The stairwell is used to represent when Todd had pushed her down the stairs from the fifth floor. In the middle of my artwork, we see a person screaming. That is the climax of the story because from that point it can be a flop or a success. When Ms.Draginda asked everyone to scream one by one, Eliza started thinking that she had never screamed before out loud. Eliza closed her eyes. The sound came from the pit of her stomach and tore up through her throat, vibrating in her chest. She felt like something was being ripped inside of her, like a piece of paper being torn in half. She felt good. She pushed in her stomach muscles and let all of her feelings and emotion out in that scream. Then on the other half of my artwork, you can see that everything has changed from sadness to happiness, this part was based on the climax. This is what happened after the
