Analysis of the Kudler Fine Foods Website
Although Kudler Fine Foods has somewhat of a special niche in food market, as it is not your typical chain "grocery store", it shouldn't stop them from investing a little time and effort into the marketing of their products and services, particularly with their comapany's website. The members of Team C have put together an analysis of the Kudler Fine Foods website that includes perspectives of three different aspects of the site. The first aspect will be the site's effectiveness, or lack thereof, from a potential customer's perspective. The second area we'll examine is the ease of site management and updating, and how that affects Kudler. Finally, we'll discuss effective design elements and why they are effective. Based o...

...will help keep organization and a feeling of flow as viewers passing through. Much like decorating a house, each room is designed for a specific function, such as preparing food and eating in the kitchen, sleeping in the bedroom, relaxing, and watching television in the family room. A professional website should also follow the same principals. Although each individual page is dedicated to a specific function, we believe that they must all follow the same design formats.
We will also include links to the new webpage design, which will help provide a smooth transition from one page to the next. These links can be customized to direct viewers anywhere on the Web. We will only install internal links for our first Web design, but this feature can easily be added and edited to link to any one of Kudler's suppliers. Attached are some Web shots of our proposed Website.
The article discusses how Panera Bread had to rethink its service model seven years ago. Customers had to wait in line approximately eight minutes to place an order. Furthermore, ten percent of the time, the orders were incorrect. As a result, the company decided that online ordering was the solution to their problem. In 2012, the organization opened a Panera prototype in Braintree, Massachusetts to test the elements of “Panera 2.0”. “Panera 2.0” consisted of self-order kiosks, delivery, digital ordering and a new practice of bringing food to customers’ tables. Getting the right process took Panera Bread over six years. However, all the time spent and money invested paid off for the company. Panera is now recognized as one of the best-performing chains in the industry. In addition, a quarter of the company sales come from online ordering and customers waiting time to place an order reduced to one minute. In 2016, the company posted its best sales growth in four years, outperforming the industry average by 6.5% points.
Kudler Fine Foods is a store unlike any in the grocery industry. Kudler Fine Foods represents a store that could possibly spark a new era within the grocery world. The owner of Kudler Fine Foods, Kathy Kudler, has watched her dream of owning and operating a grocery store that specializes in fine quality food grow within a short period of time. The success of Kudler Fine Foods can be attributed to the innovative ideas, effective leadership, and organizational structure. The overall mission of Kudler Fine Food's "is to provide our customers the finest in selected foodstuffs, wines, and related needs in an unparallel consumer environment. Our selections coupled with our experienced, helpful and knowledgeable staff, merge to offer each customer a delightful and pleasing shopping outing" (Apollo Group, 2003). Kudler has managed to maintain its mission statement by providing its customers with the best and as a result the company has flourished. "Kathy considers one of her key responsibilities to be that of identification of new gourmet items that can be offered in her stores (Apollo Group, 2003)." Therefore, Kathy is considering plans to contract with local growers of organic produce to yet obtain the best in quality products for her consumers and take her business to the next step. If Kathy makes the decision to contract with local growers then changes could be introduced into the company's overall structural organization. Each aspect of Kudler Fine Food's organizational structure from basic business process to the supply chain and quality control process will be affected by the formation of a contractual relationship with local organic growers.

Web sites are just like magazines, newspapers, brochures, menus, or even directions on how to make nitroglycerin from house-hold goods, in that they all have to be put together in such a manner that whoever is reading or browsing over it will be able to clearly distinguish this from that. In this sense, a critique of any particular web site will have justification, while carefully considering also that this is an altogether new medium of information exchange. Now, all of this talk of togetherness is actually a general reference to basic design principles, such as color coordination, if color is used, text size, font choice/ style, art integration, accessibility, and just plain and simple design of the page. For example, it wouldn't be all that appealing to the eyeball if a page being viewed had all the text jumbled up in a corner, so small your eyes were bleeding by the time you figured out that it wasn't even worth the trouble. Darn. It's important to rememeber, especially these days, that what you read is as important as how it looks. Have you ever tried reading an interview in a Raygun magazine? Kinda hard, right? Design totally for its own sake is nice, as art that is, and admittedly it looks cool. However, it's two in the morning and you're standing in line at the corner 7-11 trying to pay for your 40 ounce bottle of Kool-Aid, and you happen to see that your favorite MTV Pearl Crap-clone band is on the cover of this hip magazine and you go to read it, but you can't. It's not because to you failed elementary school three times in two years, but because the maestro in charge decided to get fancy with it and thought it'd be cool if he hid the text under a black box or likewise photograph. I like to loo...

It is evident that the information system used by Kahuna Cleaning Supply is rather slow and inefficient. The director of sales reports that the business lost a big order recently to the competitor who was able to provide the potential client with timely estimates online. In addition, the system is marred with a lot of errors while making orders and requisitions. The customers are not connected with an online interface and this makes it difficult for the company to compete favorably on the information front. The manual system is therefore obsolete, slow and unprofitable to the company. Therefore, in order to leverage their effectiveness and competitive edge, management seeks do develop a system that incorporates all the functions in a customer friendly interface. In order to evaluate the website, the first aspect to be evaluated is in terms of the content. All the content intended appear in the website such as the details for each product. The product that being displayed on website is not slightly different than the real one; what you look is what you will see or get. The purpose of why this website is created had been stated in the IKEA Privacy Policy page. The IKEA website provides a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible will be able to afford them. Even there are tonnes of pictures of product in some pages, but yet still can be considered that the content of the webpage is properly organized. People can just simply click on the item that they want to look out, as the image has been arranged in a grid and not jumbled up. Besides that, the customer also can download the IKEA catalogue and IKEA Home Planner software to view the product better. By using IKEA catalogue, it enables users to zoom in the product itself.
