Community: Riverdale Riverdale is an upscale community in the Northwestern corner of the Bronx bordered by the Hudson River, Broadway, the Bronx/Westchester county line and the Harlem River. It is accessible by the BX buses 7, 9, 10, & 20, the 1 & the 9 train, the Bee Line 1,2 & 3 and the Metro North Railroad. It is also accessible by the Henry Hudson Parkway. Riverdale is apart of Community District 8 and the 10471 zip code, which includes Kingsbridge, Marble Hill and Spuyten Duyvil This community is composed of many hills and slopes, which can be a potential danger during the winter months. In most areas, the pavement is relatively smooth but some sidewalks have chunks of uneven and unsteady rocks. There are also green streets in various spots in the region. Living here would probably be a problem for some people because of the high prices, but the homes in Riverdale add a special glimmer to the community. The homes in Riverdale are a collection of apartment buildings, condominiums and elegant private one & two family houses. All of the establishments seem to be well kept and offers no evidence of dilapidated apartment buildings. There is no crowding and the buildings are within a reasonable distance from each other. Business seems to be in top shape here. There are a number of stores on the main roads especially restaurants and other places where one can get food. Examples are bakeries, nail and hair salons, insurance establishments, banks and clothing stores. The setup of Riverdale is very much like a small town and is very sufficient in supplying its residents with their needs. The noise level here is very different from that of any other part of the Bronx. Generally, the area is quiet except for the ... ... middle of paper ... ...nity. The health care system should be the ones who notice a problem within the community. They should look for trends in the statistics and gather evidence for the problem. The government needs to intervene and come up with ways to fund these new clinics. They also need to regulate the health care system to be sure that its programs are running and the residents are taking advantage of them. Tobacco use will certainly place a strain on the Riverdale community. Not being able to find help will also place a bigger strain on individuals and their health. Garbage will place a strain on the community since it harbors rodents. This could bring disease to the community. Peacefulness and quietness are positive factors which enhance Riverdale's health status. This keeps them at harmony and keeps them from worrying about the outcome of their community. by Janice Newman
Throgs Neck is a friendly neighborhood for example, if someone was to ask me, “Where do you live?” my response would be “Oh I live near the water, you know right across the bridge next to I.S 192.” Most people seem to know what I am talking about yet most have never been, even if it is just across the Bridge. People seem to know the neighborhood well. Throgs Neck is located in the Bronx between the East River and the Long Island Sound. Walking out of my house, I could see City Island just across the East River. Down the block from me is the neighborhood corner store, which has been there for many years. Country club is just a few blocks away from me as well as Pelham Bay Park. There is also a small park to my right near Edgewater called Bicentennial Veterans Memorial Park. On my right and up the block is a middle school, not too far from there is an elementary school as well. There is also a local New York City Public Library where you will notice kid’s hangout after school. Throgs Neck’s main street road would have to be East Tremont Avenue. Where you would find your local supermarkets, drugstores, and family ...

The Crowded Clinic: Critical Analysis The Crowded Clinic Case Study (Colorado State University - Global, n.d.) discusses the issues of practice management as they apply to access to care. Access to care may be as inconvenient as lengthy patient wait times to issues far more serious that may have a profound effect on the health and well-being of a single patient or an entire cohort. In order to properly address the issue and look for a remedy, it is necessary to understand the underlying conditions that create the problem before creating the means to manage the change required to correct the problem. The Crowded Clinic has multiple issues, including social and operational, which are creating the associated inaccessibility to services.

The Community South Medical Center, a large urban profit-based health center, is equipped to deal with many comprehensive health care issues. Although the medical center has an excellent reputation, analysis has shown that they are now lacking in shortage of clinical staff, non-interfacing technologies, outdated infrastructures, abatement of JCAHO conformity, and fluctuation in demographics. In addition, many of the local high paying businesses have left the area. This could be due to competitive issues or since the demographics changed, they no longer had the consumer advantage for the services that they offered.

We can notice that public health interventions through three levels of care. Explain the relationship between factors and affecting health and wellbeing Heath care practitioners will research the links between certain public health issues and possible causes, triggers or individuals lifestyle choices for example smoking or eating a high cholesterol diet. They do this to be able to advise individuals and prevent them from getting the illness or to find ways on how to treat the illness because they have gained a better understanding of where it comes from. Once health care is put into place that is really effective you need to sit back and monitor it. By closing the feedback loop between quality and equity reporting and corrective federal, state, and local policies will be critical given the enormous complexity of reforms” (Fiscella, 2011). “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5: 17).
