Billions and billions of dollars going... where? The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) makes almost 11 billion dollars a year from college athletics but where does that money go? Well, the money for sure does not end up in the hands of these collegiate student-athletes, those men, and women who make them all that money in the first place. These billionaires want all the money for themselves. They are selfish. They are self-centered. They are money-hungry. They are part of the problem with college athletics. They are scared to lose just a small portion of this exorbitant pile of riches that they make to pay these hard working, devoted athletes. How could this problem be solved? These students put in everything they got just to go into corruption afterward… does that sound right? If you think that it is their choice to not go into bankruptcy, think again because they got no education which leads to a lack of a good job and then they go bankrupt because they were not given any money to kick start their lives after the college sport they played. According to this video on twelve pros and cons on why college athletes should be or should not be paid. Many college athletes will not go pro even if they go to a division one school. Basically saying, where will they be after the fact? That is where the money would come in, it would provide these athletes with at least some shelter or anything before they start a job they like. The video clearly states that many of these athletes and students get hurt while getting a scholarship. This is a huge factor. If they were to accept a scholarship to attend a college and they got hurt it would not be good what so ever. Not only because he or she got hurt but they would have to pay for the injury, the college would never back them up with any money because they are too scared to spend a couple thousand out of the millions they have. You could think that… but this is not true whatsoever, because if they are working on their sport for 7 hours a day and 43 hours a month. So how in the world can they not miss a big chunk of class time? Exactly it doesn't make sense to say that these students get a lot of work done or they are in class a majority of the time. Aside from this, you may be thinking that the NCAA spends most of that 11 billion dollars on good things. But the only thing about that is how can they spend 11 billion dollars and not give a single penny to any college athlete who put themselves on the line to make them that money. Even though the NCAA needs maybe a small portion of that money all of these college athletes should get rewarded with some type of payment that has more than just emotion. Some sources might say that these student athletes can control whether or not they go bankrupt after college sports. This could be true, but how are they supposed to do that with no education and money to start an afterlife. Exactly it does not make sense for them not to get some money to start a career afterward or even just to have at least some money in their hands. You can think what you want about these hard working devoted athletes but you should be for sure that they should get paid for what they do.
