I could not believe my eyes when I got to see this painting in real life for the first time. The painting stood out from all the other pieces of art I saw that day. That day was not the first time I saw the famous painting. Years before I had studied many of Vincent Van Gogh’s pieces, including “The Starry Night”, in my art class. The moon radiates an orange-yellow color that is brighter than any of the other stars in the sky. The moon seems brighter than all the other stars because it has a larger halo around the crescent. One could say that the halo around the crescent almost makes the moon look like the sun. The contrast of dark and light emphasizes the emotion depicted in the painting. Also, motion in the sky can be seen with the light and dark contrast. The glowing yellow stars above the sleeping town look like huge balls of fire that illuminate and contrast the cold blue night
