Analysis Of The Servant Of Two Masters

The production of The Servant of Two Masters is another play I watched on the university theatre. The play portrays the Italian comedian story of love, laughing, and happiness. Also, the relationship between the servant and the masters would generally be driving the whole play. The servant of two masters is produced to reflect the playwright’s expression through theatre. The playwright wanted to emphasize the theme of love that becomes the beginning and the end of the play. Even if the whole play is an interesting story for entertainment, the majority of the show might be hard to understand and pursue what is going on at that moment. Therefore, I would personally not recommend CU Theatre’s production of The Master of Two Servants because it

At the beginning of the show, I was really excited with the archaic decorated stuffs on the stage, such as, closet, candles, and beautiful trunk. These things attracted my attention of watching the show. I don’t denied that the majority of the design elements were recognized one of the great production of theatre. I was surprised with fancy costumes of each actor to identify the class and present the period of classic Italian time. However, the weak point of design elements might reduce audience’s satisfaction of the entire show. Based on the trust theatre, people would sit around three side of the stage. Even though I got seat in front, my seat was at the edge of it. This condition is main factor to block my stage’s view because there are four posts standing four corners of the stage, one is also in front of me. Not every scene I could see what the actors were doing. I sometimes saw people were laughing, but I had no idea why they did. No matter how good the actor performed or how beautiful the scene would be. I had a hard time to watch such the play. In addition, the music for dancing and singing is really melodious. Urgency is a major factor driving the show and also important, but the fast acting is chaotic and hard to understand. I could trace less scenes and details. When two elders were talking on the house, I questioned all the times for the conversation. Also, one beautiful girl expressed her feeling of love through embarrassed speaking that was super-fast. The only understandable time is when the actors sang a music and dancing. Moreover, the directing of the play is complicated to follow the show exactly. The show started without telling anything. All actors just came out on the stage to talk and dance individually like a practicing so that they wanted to remind the audiences get ready to watch the show. However, I lost some points at the beginning that was basically the background of the whole story. I also observed the theatre has no out of stage. The actors would have a seat two side of the stage and then come out on the stage when they have a role. It was so strange. To let actors being audience, it was interesting, but I was confused this kind of the production. I would also comment on the point of the actors on the stage that was invisible. They should stand at the middle rather close to the audiences because not everybody can see behind people in
