The title of the book, “The curious incident of the dog in the night time” is an interesting one. The story in the book is a picture of the life of a 15 year old boy, Christopher Boone, who lives with his father for the two years since his mother “died” and is having the Asperger syndrome. His mother’s name was Judy. The decision of the author to say that Christopher will not start a chapter with an ongoing idea or a previous chapter’s theme was one that got me interested. The main reason why I got to enjoy this book more is because it is clear that the author had a deep thought of the book before writing it. The previous decision of the author about Christopher beginning a new idea is what shows that the author wants him to appear to be having the Asperger’s or rather something different about him. There are plenty of this that have not been made in the story beginning with the one that got me wondering what Christopher was doing at the door step of another person’s house with a dog in his arms, how the dead dog got in his arms and why it is that he was at another person’s house past mid night. Christopher’s admiration for Sherlock Holmes was used by the author of the book “The curious incident of the dog in the night time”, to get the author out of continuity and form a story unlike what would be said that he was used for cure. The only fictions that made sense to Christopher were the facts which he gathered out of the lies which were established and told by the adults around him.
