Books worldwide have very different genres; some are about romance, some are about science, some are based on real events, and some are frightening, suspenseful, and exciting. Something Wicked This Way Comes, by Ray Bradbury depicts two young boys who are not afraid of anything, not even an odd-looking carnival that rolls in sometime after midnight so late in the year. They listen to no one and go off on an adventure to explore the mysterious carnival. Little do the boys know that the carnival is not just an ordinary carnival, it was something much more wicked. William Halloway and James Nightshade are neighbors in Green Town, Illinois. They will both be turning fourteen in about a week. After meeting a man that gave the them a lightening rod, the boys decided to go to the library to visit Charles Halloway, Will's father. The three of them learn about the carnival coming into town that night and opening the next day.
