“Oh yes you can, Doodle,” I said. “All you got to do is try. Now come on, and I hauled him up once more.” Doodle went along with his brother, even though it sometimes hurt. He never gave up, and if he tried his brother was always there to press Doodle onward. In a way, I think the love of Doodle should have been much more precious to his brother than the activities they planned.
Christian worldview’s response to the problem of evil and suffering is a reality because they are born into a broken world in the result of the fall (Hiles & Smith, 2014). Christians understand that “suffering increases our compassion and equips us to comfort others who suffer” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). Also, Christians understand that Jesus died for humanity to gain eternal life. If people reject the purifying death of Jesus, then they will suffer the consequences of God’ rebellion (Gockel, 2009). This means that God will not save them, nor force them to believe in Him; in which they will be condemning themselves to suffer.
In Ephesians, Paul explains... ... middle of paper ... ...that can be followed by any believer. One of the keywords in the book’s title is ‘practical’ as Kevin Gary Smith successfully brings his points across so that readers can apply them to their day-to-day lives. When partnered with the Holy Spirit, however, the book not only fulfills it’s aim but also gives it’s audience a clearer picture of God’s greatness and the incredible worth of His Son’s sacrifice upon the cross. I would recommend this work to all Christians. It is important to understand how the Old and New Testaments work together to paint a picture of God’s incredible grace and love for His people.
Without the fatherly love and guidance only a father can provide, a child could easily feel lost and confused. No father raises his children the same way and each one applies his own teachings and beliefs. But one thing all fathers do have in common is that they love their children unconditionally. Mr. Malter chooses to openly show his love for Reuven, as does Mr. Merrit to his son, Billy. The book shows how much the two fathers openly care about their children.
I. I want to explain what it means to me to be a Christian now that I have learned so much Through classes and studying more of the bible. Being a Christian means you have put all your faith into good, you live your life for him, and you worship him and tell other all about him. Being a Christian means you are changed on the inside, not on the outside. (Matt Slick) II. What it means to me to be a Christian.
Historical evidence There is an ongoing debate in the literature regarding go... ... middle of paper ... ...s where crisis begins as the younger son slowly realizes his situation. He is hungry, living with pigs and has nowhere to go. The resolution begins while the crisis is still ongoing, when the son decides he will go and ask his father to take him in as a worker. The ensuing feast, forgiveness and celebration are the closing segments of the resolution which brought the father and the son back together . Conclusion The story can be viewed from two perspectives – first perspective is that of a forgiving father, who embraces his son.
And the cautioned him saying "...son, thou art ever with me, all that I have is thine" The first part of the father's statement was to dispel his ignorant notion and to make him understand his love for him. Thou are ever with me, the same way my mind never wandered off your gone brother is the same way my mind never wanders off you. The second part shed light on his access to everything - the fatted cow, the servants, the house and everything the father owned. Having learnt all these, what should be your take-away? Never forget our Father is Jehovah El-Shaddai; the all sufficient one.
It is my hope that my son, when I am gone, will remember me not from the battle field but in the home repeating with him our simple daily prayer, 'Our Father who art in Heaven.' (Douglas Macarthur) Even though the main father and son relationship in Arthur Miller’s All My Sons does not display the “perfect” relationship they still hold respect and love for one another, they are each other’s security. In this play the author displays a society in which the characters are selfish, and seem to care only about themselves and the things that may benefit them. The men in this play go through great lengths to get everything they want, even if their actions may bring harm to others. Mr. Joe Keller seems to be an exception in this play; He will go through a lot of trouble to benefit others, especially his family.
Everyone, including his brothers and sisters came to comfort him, but nothing helped. He just wanted to mourn until he met his son again someday (Bible, Stories, Biblical Hero). Joseph showed characteristics of a hero by trusting God with everything while this was going on. He knew that even though his brothers betrayed him and sold him into slavery, that God had a plan for it all. God would always be there for him, guide him and give him comfort.
3:15) We rely on the law of the Lord, which is perfect and refreshing the souls. (Ps. 19:7) God is the one truth source for the sorrow souls. For him, he is the father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles. (2 Co. 1:3) Our main goal is to present everyone fully mature in Christ.
