The paranormal television show called Buffy The Vampire Slayer was a successful show that aired from 1997-2003 and was created by Joss Whedon. This drama became popular despite being on a new and small television channel, the WB Television Network. This television series has been successful over the years since it was nominated many times for Emmy and won two awards. The show is set in Sunnydale, where a young, teenage girl named Buffy Summers is a vampire slayer who demonstrates a powerful, female lead character. She and her friends make it their duty to protect Sunnydale from the supernatural such as vampires, demons, and other creatures that roam about. On the surface it may seem as if this all had negative outcomes, but if one would look at it in a certain way, this whole event without the use of speech not only strengthens and secures Buffy and Riley’s relationship, but it also allowed them to know who they truly are and also, to see that there needed to be change and that a step was needed to take to make their relationship go somewhere. Buffy and Riley’s relationship is a little awkward in the beginning of the episode. They struggle so much to even speak to one another which leads to them becoming disappointed when the other dismisses or just does not do anything at all. Buffy’s main reason as to why she has to lie to him is because she herself is a vampire slayer and would not want to danger him or even tell him due to the fact that she cannot mention it in a casual conversation, but the surprising thing is Riley also has similar secrets, much like Buffy does. These secrets are later revealed when they go head to head with the minions and find out themselves. But before finding out their identities, they share a kiss that results from the fact that it was their only source of communicating, but also because of their strong feelings towards each other. All of these then move them toward realizing that they need to have a long-awaited conversation about their relationship, which is the only way for things to ever happen between them.
