All Summer in a Day by Ray Bradbury teaches us that jealousy leads to bullying. Some of the evidence is that the other children made fun of Margot’s poem. The children hated her because she remembered the sun and they didn’t remember. A final piece of evidence is that they are so jealous that they resort to locking her in the closet so that she can’t see the sun on Venus. Some would argue that the story is about how people can make wrong decisions when they have an obsessive longing for something that they have no control over.

One piece of evidence is that the children make fun of Margot’s poem. Some of them tell her that she lied and didn’t write the couplet herself. They are very jealous because she remembers the sun and they don’t. William is probably more jealous than most of the other children. They do this because when the sun is supposed to appear it is almost a minute off, so the children think that nothing will happen. They lock her away because they got their hopes so high, they were so ready for that sweet sunshine. Then they thought that there was nothing so they lock her in the closet. But then the sun does come out and the children all have fun, with one exception: Margot is in the closet.
