Chapter 1: An Introduction to the Bible
This guide is specially written for new Christians, commonly called born again Christians. As we bear in mind that new Christians come into this spiritual journey called Christianity which is to live like Christ, with numerous questions in mind, but don’t know which ones to ask first, or even who to ask these questions to. You need to understand that we are not trying to encourage you more into one religion or another. We are approaching the Bible in the most neutral but instructive way.
We will First of all introduce the Bible as a book, to then present the Bible as a spiritual tool.

The Bible, the book
1) What is the Bible?
The Bible is a combination of Christian scriptures. It comprises 66 books in total, divided into the Old and New Testament.
1.1The Old Testament
The Old Testament, is the First part of your Bible. It consists of 39 books, which correspond to the myths, beliefs and history of the Hebrew People, also called in Biblical context the “chosen People”. These Books were initially written in the Hebrew and Aramaic languages around 1200 and 100 BC. The reader will find the Story of historical characters such as Abraham in Genesis 11:26 NKJV through Genesis 25:18 NKJV, also known as the Patriarch because he is supposed to be the father of the covenant, which refers to the way God has chosen to interfere with us, either for our redemption or to guarantee us a place in heaven. His story is the testimony of Faith which made him the prototype of all believers. Among other important patriarch figures of the Bible you have Jacob, Moses, David and Salomon.

Lastly regroup the topics that you feel you want to study and write them down. And don’t forget, always have your pen and journal with you.
You have many versions of the Bible out there, although it really doesn’t matter which version you buy because as Christians we believe, that all Holy Scriptures are inspired by God himself. We will use as reference of scriptures the new King James Version which is a newer version of the first King James Version also called the Authorized Version, because it is updated in the use of the English language.
We will now approach our next section, where we will go through the different themes that we believe influence or are a mystery to new Christians.
