The workplace has its significance for several students in the United States. Part time work and college are institutions that have their impact on students. It becomes a true struggle when students have several responsibilities on top of studying for their courses. Personally, I know this is true for me at my current internship at a consulting research firm. It’s a great honor to be able to work and have an internship at the same time. However, recently there have been troubles with my internship managers that have lead to further speculation. There were several inconsistencies that didn’t make sense from my perspective. Eventually, there was a holistic meeting to discuss possible termination. My speculation only increased from this occurrence because of its impact. The managers operated in a manner that displayed several inconsistencies. They had their styles of managing conflicts such as confrontational styles. Also, their methods of enhancing group and team leadership had process functions that were inconsistent. There were patterns found in the group and team dynamics such as norms that were ambiguous. My managers demonstrated a side that made it difficult to interpret. This is mostly due to the fact that were several examples of problems that didn’t make sense. It’s vital to understand possible conflicts in the workplace and still manage to navigate the situation appropriately.

...ever, my managers did inform me that look into everything before making judgements this huge. This combination could lead a worker to have assumptions on how everything is managed. These problems could be handled with further communications efforts from both sides.

In the final analysis, workers in new positions may come across certain obstacles in the workplace. These instances could be isolated and have specific implications. Personally, I feel the management in the office could have been better. Some decisions they made could be interpreted as norms and favoritism. However, there may just be more information that i’m not completely sure about. I must continue to keep in mind that this internship is very selective and a wonderful opportunity for anyone. It would be best to adhere and comply with the institution as much as possible.
