Utah is an amazing state. Utah is home to the Blue Spruce, California Gull, and the Sego Lily. Utah has so many explorers, settlers, famous people, and events, as well as the beautiful geography, important cities, and interesting facts. It is so famous for it’s snow. The state nickname is a state that has something for everyone. Famous Explorers were determined to inhabit Utah. In 1776, Dominique and Escalante, spanish missionaries, were the first to record the exploration of Utah. Then in 1843, John C. Freemont explored and mapped the Great Basin. Spaniard John Antonio Rivera was also the first European to enter Utah. Early Settlers were determined to inhabit Utah. It’s location is 40.777N.111.929W., in the Rocky Mountain States. The highest point is Kings Peak; 13528 feet, 7th. The lowest point is Beaver Dam; 2000 feet 47th.Here are all of the bordering states. Arizona is located on the south of Utah. Colorado is found on the east. Idaho ius somewhere seen on the northwest. Nevada is seen on the west of Utah. New Mexico is kind of on the southeast of Utah. Wyoming is connected to Utah, on the northeast. The geography of land or water is first, the Great Salt Lake Desert. It gets less than 5 inches(13 centimeters) of precipatation a year. To understand the effort and significance of these works, first one must understand its people. The Navajo are thought to be descendants from the people known as the Athabascan's, who migrated from Northwest of Canada and Alaska to the American Southwest around 1200 to 1500 CE . In the 16th century the Spanish conquistadors appeared in the Southwest and by the late 16th century began to subdue many of the native Pueblo people. It was because of this that many of the Pueblo people migrated westward into Navajo territory. Prior to this the Navajo had types of weaving. It is thought that they adopted weaving as well as some agricultural and ceremonial practices from these Pueblo people. This newly adopted craft was further changed with the introduction of sheep brought in by the Spanish .

Finally, in the middle of the state you reach the rich San Francisco Mountains. Once you see the peaks of the mountains you know you are close to Flagstaff, AZ.
Utah is known to have the best snow on earth, we have beautiful scenery, relaxation and recreation all within minutes of our front door. But what about that dirty air that seems to last for months? Utah has four of the nations 100 largest oil fields, which produces 1.2% of the nation’s output, with 3,600 active wells. Utah ranks 11th in the nation of oil production, and we have five refineries in the Salt Lake area that can produce 175,500 barrels of oil per day (House,2012). The major effect of these practices, is the effect of air pollution along the Wasatch Front and the serious health consequences on children, teens and adults.
America was expanding at such a rapid pace that those who were in America before us had no time to anticipate what was happening. This change in lifestyle affected not only Americans, but everyone who lived in the land. Changing traditions, the get rich quick idea and other things were the leading causes of westward expansion. But whatever happened to those who were caught in the middle, those who were here before us? One of those many who roamed the land before Americans decided that they owned it were the Native Americans.

Today Washington is home to numerous Native American tribes and has been for at least 10,000 years. The first European explorers and traders visited in the late 1700s. Lewis and Clark followed the Snake River and Columbia River to arrive at the Pacific Ocean by what is known as Long Beach today, in November 1805. The Hudson’s Bay Company had major forts and trading stations in the early 1800s, along with American fur traders, settlers, and missionaries.

Despite the common misconception of all Native Americans fit under a generic umbrella of commonality, each tribe/subdivision of a tribe, have their own distinct identity and custom. The migration of differencing tribes can be compared to France walking into Switzerland to claim it as theirs. This “invasion” here begins with the movements of two tribes of the Apache, the Lipans and the Ka-Ta-kas. While the Wichita manages to push the Lipans south, the Ka-Ta-kas, with the friendship of the well-resourced Kiowa, are able to establish a foothold in the region despite the opposition from the Wichita. This relationship, during this period of time, is contentious one at best (Baird, 50).
