Megadeth, a band who has always known how to draw a crowd, only began after the lead singer Dave Mustaine, was kicked out of the band Metallica. Even though it was Dave's Destructiveness that caused his rejection from Metallica, he was still furious about how he was kicked out of the band. "Dude you're out of the band," sadly, these were the only words the rest of the members of Metallica said to Mustaine, and that was after they had woken him up just to tell him this terrible news. Dave said, "What no warning? No second chance?" (Gilmore 50). Thus Dave felt a sense of lost but thats when Megadeth's bassist, David Elllefson, Met Dave in California and created the legendary band now known as Megadeth. Through thick and thin Megadeth has lasted …show more content…

The world had never seen a band like Black Sabbath. Ozzy Osbourne’s crazy behavior on stage shocked people. His behavior off stage wasn’t any better. While other members of the band weren’t as bad as Ozzy, they still got a lot of attention, which led to part of their frame. Black Sabbath played heavy metal music, won an Grammy award, and was one of the best bands of the 20th century.
The Dave Matthews Band has been a musical power house for years. They have meshed together almost every type of music together to create their extremely unique sounds and attractiveness towards their music. Dave Matthews, lead singer and guitarist from South Africa has put together a band that no one will ever be able to create again. Dave picked four extremely talented and unique sounding men to join his band and together they have created some amazing music. The members of the band include Stefan Lessard on bass, Boyd Tinsley on violin, Leroi Moore on saxophone and one of the best drummers in the world, Carter Beauford. Together these men will one day leave behind a similar reputation as one of the all time greatest "jam" bands of time.
The band is composed of six musicians, and has been in the music industry for over twenty years. The main singer is the director and is the oldest member of the band, he has been there since
Phish is one of the most amazing and unique bands that were ever founded. The music is a cross between bluegrass, folk and rock. The fans would pretty much do anything for this band, as they follow them around the country to different cities. In resemblance to the Grateful Dead (A Jam Band during the 70’s and 80’s), Phish puts on long shows with continuous jams. Each show being completely different from any of the other shows that they have performed drives fans to continue to follow this astonishing band. While each musician attended the University of Vermont, no one would have ever thought that this band would have made it huge. “Never thought I could make it this far, with a pain in my soul and a whole in my heart, never thought I could never thought I could but when the lights are turning round the wheels are flowing on the ground, the day I burn this whole place down when the circus comes to town” (Trey Anastasio).
The band consist of 8 members, Nathan East bassist/vocals, Andy Fairweather-Low, lead guitar/vocals, Steve Ferrone- drums, Chuck Leavell-key boardist, Ray Cooper- tambourines, Katie Kissoon and Tessa Niles- vocals, and Eric Clapton- composer, rock n roll guitarist, lead vocalist. The band members dressed in casual attire. The band members were professionals, they knew exactly how to orchestrate every chord, they collaborated with the lead singer and each other in ways that wasn’t so noticeable to the audience but they knew which chords to use for every song, the band was a top notch team. The tempo of the songs were a mixture of fast, slow, to a medium style beat. The texture of the songs was homophonic and well put together lyrics. The style of the music was from the 1960s-1970s which genres were rock, blues rock, psychedelic rock, hard rock, jazz and blues.
Again, the band had another chance in the Europe’s tours; but something went wrong. They lost the trains; they lost ways and did not get paid because of two hours late; they had play in the empty room with no audients; they had to sleep on the station because of running out of money. In addition, in the last festival (Monsters of Transylvania), they expected about 5000; but finally there had just 174 people showed up. Again, the band went down from failure to failure. They weren’t paid for any tours. And they have to come back to their normal jobs. It is difficult to put too much the effort, ambition and hope but the result is nothing. I think they would give up if they didn’t have enough “passion and love” as what Lips said before. Hopefully, they met a producer who agreed to support them in making records. They decided to continuous following their dream in their fifty one; they believed that they could make it happen after several decades. That is my favorite part in this movie so far; no matter how hard it was, keep trying harder as what Lips said: “Everything on
As these events were taking place in Lars' life halfway around the world James Hetfield, the future front man of Metallica, was attending Downey High School in Downey, California. This would be the beginning of a bumpy road for James. In his second year of high school his mother died of cancer. His parents, being Christian Scientists, shunned medical treatment and this caused a deep resentment in James in the upcoming years. After his mother's death James was forced to move to...
When they first came to the United States they supported Vanilla Fudge. They also played in clubs to start their American popularity. After they played in the clubs they got their first headlining tour and toured again that. They were playing their fifth tour by the March of 1970. Led Zeppelin the record was released by the Atlantic Records in 1969. Shortly after the record was released it was number eight and stayed in the top twenty for six weeks. When the Led Zeppelin II was released, it was Atlantic Records’ fastest selling album at 100,000 copies a week. They broke their own record in 1975 when “Physical Graffiti” that sold 500 copies an hour. All of their albums have gone platinum.
Led Zeppelin appeared in the music scene, setting the new tone for a harder rock. Led Zeppelin reached new heights of commercial and critical success that made them one of the most influential groups of the era. Black Sabbath and Deep Purple transformed Led Zeppelin’s new style into a “heavier metal” rock. These bands later influenced other bands such as Judas Priest and Motörhead, which eventually started the New Wave of British Heavy Metal in the 1980s.
Doom metal is the original form of the genre. It was invented when Tony Iommi, Black Sabbath’s guitarist, lost two fingertips on his fretting hand in a factory accident. Iommi made himself replacement fingertips out of glass. It was difficult to press strings with the new fingers, so Iommi tuned his guitar
On November 13th I went to Tramps in New York to see one of my favorite bands, MxPx. MxPx is a Christian pop-punk band. Pop punk basically means happy punk. The band members, are Mike Herrera who plays bass and sings, Tom Wisniewski who plays guitar and Yuri Ruley plays drums. They played about 10 songs, all of which I knew. Some of their songs have to do with society problems through the eyes of a teenager. At the show, the first song they played was one of my favorite's, "Teenage Politics".
In early 1970 the band Queen was formed. Freddie Mercury on vocals, Brian May on guitar, Roger Taylor on drums and Mike Gross on bass. They had known each other for years. All living in the town of Kensington in Britain, sometimes even living together. Brian and Roger belonged to a band called Smile, and Freddie was a very talented vocalsit playing for the band Ibex. They decided to join forces, to better themselves, and their chances of obtaining fame and fortune. After a few months with only a few gigs Mike Gross left the band. He was replaced by Barry Mitchell, who only played a few gigs with them. After a few short months they were looking for their third bass player. Roger, was at a party one night and was introduced to John Deacon, an electronics major at the University of London and a good bass player. The two hit it off, and Deacon became the new member of Queen.
