Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God was a sermon delivered by Jonathan Edwards in Northampton, Massachusetts. He was a Christian preacher and theologian, he was widely known as the most important American philosopher and theologian. He also one of the leading figure in the first great Awakening of the 1730s and 1740s. He was influenced by John Locke who was the most influential enlightenment thinkers and John Calvin who was French theologian father of Presbyterian Church reformation. Toward the end of his life he became the president of Princeton University. Edwards gave the sermon because, he was trying to restore the original sense of commitment that was in the first Puritans. I argue that Sinners in the hand of an Angry God should be kept in the One of the reason Edwards gave this sermon was to encourage the unconverted one. There is nothing between us the hell except God power to hold us back, even if we disobey him million times he still hold us back from fire every moment. We should keep in our mind that God will be with us, we should ask him forgiveness and his mercy before the day of mercy is past. There is devil who want misguide us from straight path; even we offended him infinitely more than ever, yet he still hold us from falling in to fair every moment (436). When we know God is in our side it encourage us to do more good deeds than ever, even if we sin many times he still forgive us because he care about us. “We may cry now with some encouragement to get his mercy, but when they day is past there is no hope for us; he will make us suffer misery because we disobey him, when we cry to him he will only laugh and mock” (438). We have opportunity to seek forgiveness the door of mercy is wide open for our poor sin; when we close to him he loved us, washed our sins in his own blood and rejoicing in hope of the glory of God (440).
