Saddam’s government collapse in the US impacted the country of Iraq by creating a democratic government where the citizens have rights. Two years earlier Afghanistan was invaded by the us because their government was believed to be an aid to Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden. Later the US defeated Afghanistan’s government, the Taliban and established a democratic government like in Iraq today. We can infer that the Middle East has complicated problem going on with the region, that not even the u.s. president can figure out. Within the complex seesaw storyline in Slaughterhouse-five, Vonnegut contributed his war experiences in the main character, Billy Pilgrim. Along with these horrific memories during World War Ⅱ , the element of time travel is evident in the novel, allowing Billy to repress these painful memories and follow the philosophy he learned on Tralfamador. In Kurt Vonnegut's book Slaughterhouse Five, the protagonist , Billy Pilgrim, the remains of a man who has become a traumatized war struck soldier. In creating and developing Billy Pilgrim, the war, along with family influence, shapes how Billy acts in his two different lives: life in the military and life alone. Billy Pilgrim is surely on a mission, because his excessive time travelling doesn’t seem to happen for no reason. Billy circulates around his life even through the moments of capital importance when he seems hopeless. He’s a mind boggling and confused man who tries to play the game of life the way society expects him to but sometimes has the feeling that he was meant for greater things. Vonnegut portrays our protagonist as an archetype, the epitome of a christ-like messiah who has come to save humanity.
Even before the eve of the Revolution, the colonists constantly had the image of independence lingering in the back of their heads. The colonists felt that they were first on a loose leash, and as that leash tightened over the years, the colonists began to understand their true culture and identity. As time passed, the colonists developed a greater sense of their identity and unity as Americans and by the eve of the Revolution, even though at first the colonists were unorganized and had problems with being united, they remained determined to gain their identity and unity as Americans.

The nation of Cuba has been at odds with the United States since Fidel Castro assumed power in 1959. The United States embargo and sanction on Cuba stems from the fact that the United States will not tolerate Communist governments and "the most important objective of the Cuban government is to remain in power at all costs," says Felix Martin, a professor at Florida’s Cuban Research Institute. The conflict and reason for why the embargo has stayed intact over the years can be summarized in three major points of dissent: Human rights violations, Guantanamo Bay, and the Cuban exile community.
The Middle Eastern has developed a lot of economic success with the authoritarianism government they’ve established. To some people, if they are economically stable, they’re willing to endure the hardships of being lead under a dictator. Countries like Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are flourishing in the oil business, which keeps them wealthy and involved in international relations. To the citizens of the Middle East, this makes their country look powerful because even with the Western’s opposing ideologies, they’re still working with the Middle East. “CIA-funded coup against the secular, democratically elected prime minister of Iran, Muhammed Mossadeq, that anger and disillusionment with the U.S. spread across the region” (68). The “CIA-funded,” (68) raises red flags towards the government and the decisions they have made. The involvement in this situation caused the tension. Later Hasan exclaimed, “I condemn the actions of the U.S. government in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Yemen, without attacking my American friends in Houston, LA, or New York” (69). The previous quote explains how the U.S.’s involvement over seas has been set as priority by the government. Hasan points out in the second half of the quote that the government should also be looking at the conflict brewing at home. “America is not the American government. Nor is the U.S. border patrol” (69). This last quote puts everything the other argued in context. Hasan’s purpose was to merely show that the U.S. government has started the conflict with other countries and that the foreign policies should be changed instead of being unlawful. Since the 1973-74 school year to the 2008-2009 school year, the price of attending a four-year public or private school has roughly tripled after adjusting for inflation according to College Board. (Update). The current price of college tuition leaves students with many problems in order to receive a college degree which most careers today require. Attending college is part of the “American Dream” and the freedoms that this great country offers but when students can not afford the freedoms we offer, then it becomes a problem. Most college students are left with substantial amounts of debt restricting them from further advancing in their careers after they graduate and the average family can not keep up with the rising costs of education and have to resort to finding other ways to get the desperately needed money. College Tuition--tripling in 40 years, leaving students with large amounts of debt, accounting for 3.3% of the total U.S. gdp-- should be lowered.
	"A Clean, Well-Lighted Place" by Ernest Hemingway is a story which emphasizes on three age groups that each have a different view of life. By analyzing the three different points of view, we see Hemingway’s perspective of an old man. The short story is about an old man that sits in a very clean bar every so often who drinks away at two o’clock in the morning and is the last one to leave. There are three waiters: one is a young man, one is an older gentleman, and the last is a very old man. All the waiters see him in a different way based on their age.

Through his excellent use of character development, Hemingway provides the reader with a lively portrayal of theme, plot, and symbolism throughout the entire piece.
The Sun Also Rises is Hemingway’s first momentous literary work. It is a story about the lives of a number of Americans who were living in Europe after World War I. An American World War I expatriate and journalist, Jake Barnes, tell the novel’s storyline. The themes that are depicted by Hemingway in this novel include purposelessness of the ‘Lost Generation’, masculine insecurity, communication breakdown, binge alcohol consumption, and fake friendships. Nonetheless, as essential as the premise and the context of the novel are, the characters are the heart and soul of the Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises
Ernest Hemingway was a Nobel Prize winning Author who was forced to cope with a great deal of strife and hardship throughout his life. He served in World War 1 and sustained injuries that would shape the early years of his life. He was married to four different women, and appeared to have problems created from his desire to adventure and travel the world. In 1933 when he wrote “A Clean Well Lighted place” he was going through an adventurous time of his life, and preparing to enter his third marriage. He seemed to be dealing with problems surrounding the development of his adult life.
