Introduction
The definition of American Community Survey (ACS) by the U.S. Census Bureau is “an ongoing survey that provides data every year and giving communities the current information they need to plan investments and services [1]. All rights reserved. Used here for educational purposes only."
The American Community Survey intended to deliver the most recent demographic, economic, social, and housing evaluation during the years. The ACS is a part of the U.S. Census Bureau and they save some information every year that is approximately in more than 40 different topics.
The American Community Survey uses different kinds of documents for their sample selection. A comprehensive list of residential addresses and group quarters in the county as well as MAF (Master Address File) are uses for these sample selection by American Community Survey. The questionnaires of ACS will mail to sample addresses each month and if any of these addresses did not mail back their ACS questionnaires the phone interview will be available for them. From each three samples addresses there is always one in person interview will be obtained. In some case for additional information about population groups or special geographic areas the ACS will provide a vehicle for collecting data [2].
The American Community Survey collects information from individual household either online or on a paper form. After collections process the data combined into statistics such as reports, tables and applications. At that point these data are uploading on the different U.S. Census Bureau web sites. Then, a variety of organization like civic and academic institutions or businesses can use the ACS data for different purposes. The American Community Survey tries to coll...

Two sampling methods include mail surveys and convenience sampling, a variation of a nonprobability sample. Mail surveys, inexpensive way to contact individuals over a large geographical area, provide anonymity to the respondent, and eliminate interview bias. Convenience sampling, a nonprobability sample, the only criteria is the convenience of the unit to the researcher, fast and uncomplicated, but the sampling error not determined.
Idaho Falls is home to one hundred and thirty thousand three hundred and seventy four people. Located on the Eastern edge of Idaho, Idaho Falls is a focal point for much of Idaho and Western Wyoming. While conducting demographic research on the metropolitan area, I found some interesting stats. Using the demographic indicators of age structure, racial diversity, and family makeup, provided me essential data that describes the makeup of its metropolitan area.
My group’s aggregate is in East Side Community of Buffalo, NY. For this assignment, a windshield survey of East Side Community was completed. The windshield survey is an assessment of the community through my personal observations. This survey will include an assessment of four categories. These consist of the physical aspects, economical standings, services provided, and social aspects of the community. In addition to the windshield survey, local census data was collected. Below are east side community’s results and local census data findings.

Pittsburgh has come a long way from its roots and is still continuing to change for the better. The same can be said for Pittsburgh’s musical artists and culture. As the times change and people desire something different, Pittsburgh will always provide for what people want and need no matter what culture, ethnicity, or style.
Biking from Franklin on the Allegheny Valley Trail, average travelers would assume that the path on which they were riding was nothing more than an ordinary trail in an ordinary town. Then around the five mile marker they would see the massive Belmar Bridge rising in the distance. Today the bridge serves as a reminder of our region’s rich history, harkening back to the days when oil wells dotted the landscape and railroads crisscrossed the countryside. At about the eight mile marker, a large rock covered in intricate symbols and markings juts out of the river. Centuries ago, Indian God Rock served as a waypoint for the Native Americans who created the paths on which the railroads were built. The Allegheny Valley, Samuel Justus, and Sandycreek Trails built by the Allegheny Valley Trails connect all eras of our region’s history, from the Native American period to the glory days of the oil industry, the years of economic decline, and the our recent resurgence as a center of tourism and recreation.

Method used in collecting information includes qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data is used to determine the history of the community; quantitative data such as windshield survey, focus group and one on one interview were also included because both sources were important for the past and current information of the community (Stamler & Yiu, 2012, p.221).
In addition, due to a high turnover in summer and year round staff, the quality and reliability of survey may offer a skewed perspective of the surveyor and this may affect the quality or lack thereof, a true representation of the Upward Bound program’s effectiveness and the participants’ perspective. Programs with similar gender and/or ethnic composition may be able to glean information from this research, some aspects of this research, and integrate the findings in their ...
The title of this class project is, Assessing My Community’s Health. The project was to design a questionnaire using different variables and have 25 church members within my zip code to complete the questionnaire. An example of the questions asked, do you have medical coverage, what is your level of income, do you believe that education affects you health. With the data collected, I will use a meth...
In a continuation of the Springdale Shopping District Survey, use of confidence intervals is introduced to improve upon the evaluation of the quality of the statistics derived from the survey of a sample population. There has historically been an assumption that the respondents represent a simple random sample of all potential respondents within the community and that the population is large enough that application of the finite population correction would not make an appreciable difference in the results. Use of confidence intervals will provide an indication of the level of confidence that can be applied when reviewing the survey results.
