"Amadeus", a 1984 movie directed by Milos Forman is music, history, and drama all wrapped up into a whimsical and entertaining film. The charming places filmed in "Amadeus" were shot in Forman's home-country of Czechoslovakia. The movie was filled with luxurious costumes and gorgeous architecture.

The role of eighteenth-century Mozart was given a new perspective as goofy and immature with a ridiculous laugh and is brought to life by Tom Hulce. It begins with a jealous musician, Salieri played by F. Murray Abraham telling the story, confessing himself in a madhouse to the priest after trying to commit suicide. He sees how effortlessly Mozart creates Godly music and sees how dull and lifeless his music is and envys Mozart. It goes back to his memories when Salieri knew Mozart in Vienna from 1781 to 1791 and how his hate grew throughout the movie to loathing. You would think Hulce's looks and personality would be all wrong for the part of Mozart, but he was absolutely perfect for it. Mozart does not become the main character of this movie, it revolves around Salieri and how he feels about Mozart and his life. Salieri references back to God from start to end and goes from love to hate towards him. Salieri seeks Mozart's fall and, willing to do anything he toys with Mozart's head. Although this film should not be shown as an accurate portrayal of Salieri or Mozart's life. Anyone who does not like historically inaccurate Mozart movies I would advise not to see it, but other than that this movie was
