The word dementia represents a set of terms such as problems in thinking ,language, memory loss ,and behavioral changes. Dementia is a disorder that causes a decline in mental ability. The most common type of dementia is Alzheimer's Disease. Alzheimer's (AD) is a progressive, degenerative disorder that affects the brain's nerve cells. It is named after Dr.Alois Alzheimer, a German nation, who the one discovered it in 1906. In 2010, it is estimated that about twenty-one and twenty-five million people around the world have AD. Furthermore, it usually begins in people who are sixty-five years old or over. Although a lot of people have it, there are also many people do not know what the symptoms are, how to diagnosis it and whether or not there is a treatment. …show more content…

During the early stage, the memory lapses are happened. For example, the patient may have difficulty in remembering the latest events and conversations and get lost in places which they are used to being in. In the middle stage, as Alzheimer's increase, the patient will have problems with language and speech such as difficulty to find the suitable words when they talk. Also, there will be some behavioral and mood changes such as acting impulsively, repetitively, and obsessively, or being depressed, anxious, and confused. In the later stage of Alzheimer's , a person with Alzheimer's will often need a full time care from someone to help them in their daily life activities because they may not be able to do easiest things by their own .
