Impressionism is a painting style that is characterized by small and very thin strokes of the brush, and the thin strokes are visible because they are reinforced by bold and clear colors and the extensive use of light to highlight all the features in the painting. There are many famous painters who were known for their inclination of the style of painting. These are; Claude Monet, Alfred Sisley, Edgar Degas and Claude Monet. It is a painting of a landscape, and it is horizontally placed. The mediums used as sated above are woods, oil, and canvas. It seems Alfred Sisley loved the traditional set ups when coming up with his paintings and this is seen from the Street in Moret too. The historical setting of the painting is traced back to the 19th century during the period of Impressionism. The streets are similar to the ones that anyone can come across today, and therefore it indicates that the painting is not fake but rather based on real life events. Sisley has also made good use of natural light something that not all painters do. He is confident in his drawing in that he does not leave anything out because the natural sunlight allows him to include everything that is present in the street. The painting also allows the viewer to see it in 3D in that it brings out the reality of what can be seen in real situations, for instance, the road and the buildings seem to recede into the background as a result of the narrowing road as well as houses becoming smaller.
