Athletes who are trying to find the perfect city should come to Vici. Once the athletes come, they will never want to leave. Vici is the best, because of my gym, a forest with animals, and my supplement store/grocery store. The gym is hardcore and designed for power lifters and bodybuilders. The music played is loud, rock-strength training music. The gym in Vici9i9 contains many knowledgeable people all the way from personal trainers to competitors. Nutritional and training experts available are for people’s needs. My gym has all of the equipment that power lifters and body builders use. The main line of equipment in my gym is HAMNER STRENGTH equipment. In the gym many equipment accessory options are available: lifting chalk, lifting straps, lifting hooks, lifting belts, an arm blaster, and occlusion training equipment. For strongman and strength training equipment the gym contains dog sleds, fat boy sleds, cannonball grips, farmer walk handles, atlas stones, butchers, log bars, grippers, etc. In the gym there is a posing room with mirrors, and body fat testers. My gym is located i...

Since the days of World War I trenches, men and women of the Chemical Corps have honorably served the needs of America’s Army. On the battlefield and off, courageous CBRN Soldiers have had an essential role in preserving our country’s freedom. As a Dragon Soldier it is important to know the history of the Corps (U.S. Army Chemical School, n.d.). Most of the Soldier’s in the Army think that Chemical Soldier’s are the ones you see that one time of the year for mandatory training; such as round robin type training or the CBRN gas chamber. However, as the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq started there was a need for Soldier’s that had a certain mind-set. Those that could and would do things that were necessary at the time of war that other regular Soldier’s would not or could not do. Those types of Soldier’s are typically suited for life in U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC). This paper is a brief history of The Chemical Corps, USASOC/Delta Force, and a Chemical Soldier who gave the ultimate sacrifice, SFC Mickey E. Zaun.
The gym is a place where a typical American college student goes to work out their bodies. Based on the fact that I personally could be considered a gym rat, a stereotypical name for someone who spends a lot of time in the work out area. This is partially by choice being on the swim team requires the strength training equipment that is available to our disposal in the gym. While I have been to the gym many times I haven’t really taken the time to take in the other people around me. Within this ethnographic exercise I will explore the college gym norms within Roger Williams University.
There are many reasons Alpha Sigma Alpha exists. The purpose of ASA is to foster close friendships between members and to develop women of poise and purpose. The vision of Alpha Sigma Alpha is to cultivate values and ideals in women who are known for their character and concern for others. ASA inspires women to lead, to serve and most of all to make a difference. Alpha Sigma Alpha promotes high ideals and standards for its members throughout their lives by emphasizing balance among our four aims of intellectual, physical, social and spiritual development. Alpha Sigma Alpha provides opportunities through sisterhood, heritage, leadership, core values, balance, generosity, enjoyment, relationships, integrity and growth. The creed is “To fill my
In the essay, “Move over Boys, Make Room in the Crease,” the author, Sarah Maratta, explains the bias against women’s involvement in sports. Maratta states the claim that women should be treated as equal in their aspirations to be involved in sports. Maratta grew up her entire life loving sports; in particular, she was quite fond of hockey. In this essay, we find out that not only does she have a passion for the icy and mostly Canadian sport, but that she has a desire to see women treated fairly in all aspects of the sporting world. While discussing the flaws and ill-treatments of women in the sports industry and society, she conveys a sense of urgency in making sports completely unbiased toward gender and about the true love of the games.
June just yelled at the Glorious Elector of The Republic, to be a better politician. She brought up the topic of separating emotions of going into war, “You have to make decisions that break your heart, that hurt and deceive, that no one else will understand. It’s your duty”. That isn’t always the case, where you have to rise up the courage to tell someone in power, that they are doing their job wrong and even if they are living their life wrong. June Iparis explains how to use justification “When emotion fails, logic will save you.” (177)
Another smaller audience that would be interested in my essay would be the people who are associated with the management and upkeep of McComas. This is because everything that goes on in the weight room directly affects their jobs, and influences the decisions that they make to run the gym. Since McComas is currently being renova...
...hat the facilities are at best decent and nothing relatively superior, is for the use of a gym that isn’t over crowded, and filled with like-minded individuals of the same age and race. My research methods such as an inductive method including participant-observation allowed me to observe the members and how they interacted amongst each other. Most of what I learned came from the women’s locker room, where many of them felt as ease as they discussed diets, workouts, and health issues. The one aspect that did change after using the facilities was that the price included within the membership was not for high end machines, or for state of the art locker rooms with luxurious amenities. The price is paid to be part of a network of older individuals, with like-minded ideas of staying fit for the sake of being healthy, and to work out in a crowd-free, judgment free area.
People do not like to believe they are puppets on strings, as free will is more fun, exciting and empowering. But sadly it does not matter what people think, for their futures have already been decided. Especially if you are a hero, chances are, your destiny has already been made. As dramatic and mystical as it may sound, but fate overpowers free will. No matter what route one takes, and what type of extreme measure a person is willing to go through, if it is ones destiny to achieve something or lose something or do something, they will do it. However, free will does have a role to play.

Many methods are used to accomplish the conditioning and strengthening of various body parts. Olympic weight lifting styles are used while heavy objects are carried over certain distances. Olympic weight lifting includes lifting a single barbell with weights on each side, running, using dumbbells, rope-jumping and do-body weight exercises. Do-body weight training consists of exercises that don’t incorporate weights or objects which include exercises such as squats, sit-ups and
Automated doors slide open revealing a multitude of fitness machinery and flooding the air with the sound of weights clinking and the synchronized rhythmic stomping of twenty pairs of Nikes hitting the floor simultaneously in the step aerobics class; it’s time to get physical. On any given day, at any time, in gyms all across America the same scene is played out, (Guy). A handful of muscle bound jocks, serious about competitive weight lifting, can be seen spotting each other in the free weights area. Mirrors in the bathrooms, dressing rooms, and on the fitness center floor are consumed by pimped out prima donnas and jewelry adorned divas alike; preoccupied with primping and flexing their way to personal greatness/fitness. Normal, average, everyday people just trying to fit an hour or so workout into their busy schedule; they want to get in, get pumped, and go on with their day - these are the best types of gym dwellers.
In previous articles I have talked about some of the things that I feel the Crossfit revolution has brought to the table in the strength sports world. A marked rise in the availability of equipment, at a variety of prices. More opportunities for access to the best minds and coaches in the world. Most important is the rekindling of fascination with the classic strength sports like Olympic Weightlifting. There is a new wave of intense interest in Weightlifting crossing the United States. Much attention is being paid to how the US is currently performing on the world stage. Much is being said about the inability of America to win World Championships and Olympic Gold. Recently I had the opportunity to talk to 2012 US Olympic team member
