The word honor means high respect and esteem. To me, honor means courage, respect and hard work. An honorable person is someone I can look up to. Albert Einstein is that type of person. He is someone that overcame obstacles in his youth to become one of the greatest scientists to ever live. Einstein was born on March 14th, 1879 in Ulm, Kingdom of Wurttemberg, German Empire. His parents’ names were Hermann and Pauline Einstein and he had one sister, named Maja. He was a quiet kid who was slow in learning how to speak. His parents even talked to a doctor about his condition and his housekeeper thought that he was retarded. Because of this, he was often looked down upon. He was also sent to many different schools. This shows the relativity between energy and mass and that they are different forms of the same thing. An example would be ice, water and gas. They are all different forms of liquid. Einstein also added to Newton’s gravitational pull theory. He stated that the earth’s orbit attracts space objects because of the part that the earth plays in space’s make up. This helps us keep satellites in space as well as astronauts. He made many other contributions to science. He even explained why the sky is the color blue. Although scientists today are very comfortable with his ideas, in his time they were completely revolutionary. He won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921 for his services to Theoretical Physics and for his discovery of the law of photoelectric effect. In 1990 he was added to the Walhalla Temple and in 2008 he was inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame. These are just a few of his many honors. Einstein’s personal life was challenging. His first wife, was helpful in his early discoveries and very smart in her own right. Her name was Mileva Maric’. She was a Serbian physicist and the 2nd woman to finish a full program of study at the Department of Math and Physics. They married in 1903 and had 3 children. They divorced in 1919. His 2nd wife was named Elsa Einstein. She was also his first cousin on his mother’s side and second cousin on his father’s side. They had two children together. At the age of 76, Albert Einstein died. He was buried in Princeton, New Jersey in
