Communication is the key. Individuals most capable of communicating in a particular situation succeed. As a societal philosophy, this position might appear fair. Social constructs are pretty difficult to establish when people are not able to speak to one another. This thinking, however, is firmly connected to a rather large assumption. One must assume that those persons that communicate the best are actually contributing something important to a discourse. In other words, strong communicators must equate with those individuals that have the best ideas. We know this assumption is false. People with the best understanding of a topic are usually not the most capable of communicating it. Oddly, we realize several reasons exist for this fact. Language differences among those in social situations account for tremendous amounts of communication concerns among people. Learning disabilities account for an enormous level of communication problems, as well.
Every grouping of civilized people, therefore, must decide what matters most to it. Does this skill of communication matter most? Or, does the authoring of the best ideas matter more? I, for one, place a greater value on ideas. This position is the result of my personal belief that better ideas are the progeny of true learning. Most importantly, I recognize that this stance obligates me, as an educator, to support the transformation of teaching practices in two ways. First and foremost, teaching must be organized to move students from lives where they consume information to existences in which they produce new thinking. And, this fact bolstered their confidence of having expert knowledge on the topic. They were just not able to communicate it. As Richard Elmore stated, “it is hard for people to collaborate when they have no common experience or common language”. It is not practical in today’s cosmopolitan communities to expect that people will unite around a singular language. But, we all unite around the experience of understanding something highly but being misunderstood when we tried to explain it. As a cohort, we might transform American education if we can convince our fellow citizens that by using differentiation as an instructional strategy we can help them find their voice and help them to support their children finding their voice, as well.

In earlier times, the acquisition and spreading of knowledge was not used to improve society. Instead it was used to have control and to exclude certain groups. As one could imagine, there needed to be a change in the way that the education system was set up. The American system of education is considered to be one of the most progressive in the world. One of the surveys on attitudes toward teaching around the world found that the United States is unique in its strong emphasis on "good teaching." My experience at State College has helped me to understand better how this system works, and what methods and techniques American teachers use to motivate their students for creative and active learning. However, I can also see that this system doesn’t work perfectly in every classroom. Reading Ernest Boyer’s article “Creativity in the Classroom” helped me with my understanding of the main problem that nowadays exists with the American college education system. According to the author, the problem is that teachers and students don’t see each other as one team doing the same business; therefore, in most classrooms the process of learning becomes a boring procedure instead of being mind-blowing. Moreover, reading this article, I could analyze the reasons of this problem that the author identifies through my own experiences at State College.
One of the ideas that I have learned is that all students learn in different ways and teachers need to teach to their needs. This is described with an analogy in Finding Freedom. The analogy used is, “ . . . anyone would laugh themselves silly at the thought that children with different body sizes ought to be made to wear the same size clothes . . .” (Hinchey, 67). We would laugh if someone said all children should wear the same size clothing, yet teachers are still teaching students all in the same way. Some students learn from lecturing and memorizing, whereas others learn from examples and trial and error. Finding Freedom states that teachers need to modify work for students so that they can learn the material (Hinchey, 11). Delpit also states, “Some of the [black students] even learned how to read, but none of them as quickly as my white students. I was doing the same thing for all of my kids--what was the problem?” (Delpit, 13). Before reading these two statements as well as others and discussing them in class I thought that almost all students learned in the same way. I thought this because I learned from lecturing, memorizing, and a few examples. I figured that if I could learn in that way and most of my peers learned in that way then most students could.
By educating children, we need to prepare them for the life in a fast changing society where they can be responsive, fulfilled and innovative. The ability to use methods of teaching and learning within the curriculum is important when trying to make it possible. Countless amounts of schools have already been familiarising themselves with the importance of creativity and ways of how to teach, how to make the learning more holistic, more engaging and more creative. With the new curriculum complete, there are consequently many more opportunities and challenges for teachers to provide the best and most appropriate learning opportunities for the pupils they teach. Communication is an interdependent process of sending, receiving, and understanding messages. The definition implies that the components of the communication process cannot be examined separately. Rather, the relationship exists between the sender and the receiver, as well as the environment of the communication event, must be viewed as a whole. According to this perspective, if any of the components and circumstances change (that is, the number of individuals involved in the interaction, seating arrangements, or the time of the day) the communication event is altered. I graduated from butte college in 1997 with an AS degree in Licensed vocational nursing. I later decided to further my education in nursing and returned to college, I graduated with an AS degree in Registered nursing in 2002 from butte college. I am currently attending Pacific college to earn my BSN degree. Right after I obtained my LVN license I went to worked at Oroville hospital, I worked for Oroville hospital for one year, then I decided to make a change and I went to work for California Forensic Medical Group which is a subcontracted company for the Butte County jail and I have been there ever since. Throughout history people as well as animals have found ways to make life, as we know it simpler. With this ease comes a greater level of technology, which requires humans to once again adapt to this ever-changing society. In result, communication, understanding and knowledge plays key importance to how our society grows. Through trial and error we have learned how education works and the best method of teaching, but we still sometimes wonder what is the absolute best way.
Communication is one of the most important factors in our lives. It dictates the relationships formed with the individuals in personal and professional lives. Effective communication provides a foundation for trust and respect to grow. It also helps better understand a person and the context of the conversation. Individuals often believe that their communication skills are much better than what they actually are. Communication appears effortless; however, much of what two people discuss gets misunderstood, thus leading to conflicts and distress. To communicate effectively, one must understand the emotion behind the information being said. Knowing how to communicate effectively can improve relationships one has at home, work and in social affairs. Understanding communication skills such as; listening, non-verbal communication and managing stress can help better the relationships one has with others.
Hayter (2006) goes on to enthusiasm, which creates a sense of importance. If the speaker is enthusiastic then the listeners will feel excitement towards the communicator. Knowing one’s audience is imperative to the tone of the communication. Caring about who one is speaking to will give the audience recognition (Hayter, 2006). Feeling a topic is unrelated to someone can lead to them not listening. Communicating to an audience requires knowledge as well (Hayter, 2006). The communicator must know the subject well or they will seem to have no authority on the topic (Hayter, 2006).
