Back then, Coca Cola was a nerve tonic. Yet, Coca Cola is the most popular soft drink of our time, how could this be? Well, you shall soon find out since the origins, until the current times. You will be taught how “Pemberton’s French Wine Coca” also known today as Coca Cola, became so popular and many fats you may have never heard of before! This phenomenon started in 1884..

Vin Mariani was the beginning of the invention of Coca-Cola. Vin Mariani was originally a tonic made by Angelo Mariani, a chemist who found use in coca leaves in his drinks. He was well known in Europe. Vin Mariani contained about six milligrams of coca but Vin Mariani soon contained seven point two milligrams per ounce to compete with the other drink makers in the United States. Since John Pemberton copied that tonic in 1884, Angelo Mariani is the technical maker of Coca Cola Vin Mariani was consumed. by famous people as well, such as Queen Victoria and Pope Leo XXI

Angelo Mariani was born in 1838 and Angelo Mariani is as I stated, a chemist but, he didn't come from the United States. The Mariani family came from the island of Corsica He was the best known inventor of coca wine, which is just a blend of wine and extracted coca leaf. Also, Angelo obtained a gold star from Pope Leo because he said that Vin Mariani, has extended his life. In 1914, Angelo Mariani has passed away.

Pemberton’s French Wine Coca was a direct copy of Vin Mariani. Dr. John Pemberton, the creator of this drink caught on with the Vin Mariani hype. Although there were many Vin Mariani imposters, this one stood out. John Pemberton was an official doctor so he could acutually obtain the supplies need to brew the syrup of Vin Mariani such as coca leaves, most other imposters could...

In the end, Coca Cola had a lot more than just making a soft drink and becoming a billion dollar industry, but there was many decisions that they had to make as well and most of them were risky and that is what brought us this company today. Coca Cola's formula is still kept hidden to everyone except two people in the world today even though Pemberton told the formula to many people. Coca Cola also had many challenges along the way, PepsiCo was one of the biggest rivals so not everything can be easy, John Pemberton didn't even know his drink would be worldwide famous! Just because you didn't succeed in your life, it doesn't mean you would be famous afterwards.
