Summary: This story is about a boy named Tom Sawyer. He made a lot of pranks on people. Once he had to go to the church. But before going, he had to take a bath. So his Aunt Polly put him in a bathtub with water. He hated to take baths, so he didn’t take them. He threw the water away, telling his aunt that he had already taken a bath. She noticed that his hair was still dry, so she made another bath for him full of water and soap. She told him to take another bath and he did. Tom didn’t always go to school and played a lot with his friend Huckleberry Finn. The kids from town weren’t allowed to play with him, because he was a bad mannered boy. Then a new girl came to school: Becky Thatcher. Tom fell in love with her, but she ignored him. And he often went to the place where she lived. One day Tom went to the forest where he found Huckleberry Finn, who lived in the forest without his parents. Huckleberry had warts, so they decided to do something about it. They agreed to go to the graveyard in the middle of the night to cure Huckleberry from his warts. When they arrived there, they were very scared and saw three men. Later they recognized them as Injun Joe, Muff Potter and Dr. Robinson. They were robbing the grave of a man who died a few days ago. The two boys were hidden behind some bushes, and could see and hear everything that was happening. All of a sudden the three men got into a fight and then Injun Joe killed Dr. Robinson. Muff Potter was unconscious at that time, because he was knocked down. When Potter regained consciousness, Injun Joe told Potter that he killed Dr. Robinson. Potter was nervous from the time they got there, and he believed Injun Joe. Injun Joe told him that the best he can do right now, is to run away, and hide; and when he met someone, he should act normal. Then Injun Joe left the graveyard, too. Tom and Huckleberry saw it all, and were witnesses. But they were too scared that Injun Joe would come back for revenge if they told the people in the town what happened. The whole town went to the graveyard the next day, because Dr. Robinson was found dead there. Tom and Huckleberry went too. When they arrived there they also saw Muff Potter. A man who lived near the graveyard told them that it was Potter, who did it. His dog barked that night and when the man looked to see what it was, he recognized Potter. Tom did not want to go to schoo... ... middle of paper ... ... back to Becky and told her to come along, because Injun Joe was coming. At first she does not want to, but later she goes with him. When Tom and Becky got out of the cave, He closed the cave and makes sure that Injun Joe was not able to open the cave again. Tom goes to Huckleberry and tells him that he has seen Injun Joe and that he knew where the treasure was. Tom and Huckleberry took a boat and went back to the cave. There they searched for the treasure. Huckleberry saw a cross in the cave and thought that it was Injun Joe’s ghost. He was scared because of this, but then Tom said that there are no ghosts in the neighborhood of crosses. They kept on searching for the treasure and finally they found it. They went back to the village with the money. There, they told the people that they had found a treasure but nobody believed them so tom showed the treasure. Huckleberry could stay and live with the man who helped him. And a few days later, Huckleberry told Tom that he could keep all the money. But when Huckleberry needed some, Tom had to give it to him. My opinion: I really liked this book! It was really fun to read. I saw the movie too but it was different than the book.
Along the river, Jim and Huck run across two scam artists who claim to be a runaway King and Duke. Their raft is overtaken by these two men who force Huck and Jim into their dangerous, yet comical scams. Their last scam proves t be too much of Huck. The King and Duke claim to be the brothers of a quite wealth, but conveniently deceased man. Because of their acclamation, the two men are guaranteed a large inheritance. However, when Huck falls for the beautiful heart and kindness of one of the dead man's nieces he can't imagine stealing the money form her. Huck tells the niece the whole story, and admits who the "brothers" really are. The King and Duke are eventually discovered by the town to be impersonators, and are tarred and feathered.
Then they see a person coming towards them. It turns out to be Muley Graves, an old friend. The three of them start to talk for a long time about what is going on in the area. The banks and land companies had driven many of the farmers, including the Joads and Muleys family, of the land, and that tractors now plowed the earth instead of men. Then Muley tells Tom that his family is staying with his Uncle John. The next morning Tom and the preacher set out to Uncle John's house. When they get there Tom surprises his dad and whole family with his sudden arrival. Soon after Tom learns that the entire family is going to go west, to California. After little debate they decide to go the next day and bring Tom and the preacher. Also coming were grandpa and grandma, pa and ma, Toms older brother Noah, Toms younger siblings Al, Rose of Sharon (who is pregnant) and her husband Connie, Ruthie and Windfield, as well as Uncle Tom.

Tom and Becky are too weak to call out to them though. Tom ends up seeing Injun Joe in a nearby passage in the cave. He later discovers a way out of the cave and he and Becky return home. The book and the movie were both very good. The book took time to explain things like setting, people’s emotions, people’s traits, and important background information. There was no time for these explanations the movie. The book, however, had parts in the beginning where some readers could become flustered.
Scout Finch is not the stereotypical girl from the 1930’s. Agents the wishes of everyone around her, she grows up in overalls instead of dresses. Scout plays in the dirt and sand, instead of in the kitchen. In the novel To Kill a Mocking Bird, by Harper Lee, Scout is the wild spirited narrator, growing up in the small town of Maycomb. As she gets older, she learns mostly from her father Atticus how to interact with people. Scout learns to show dignity and respect to everyone, under any circumstances.
Tom Sawyer, a mischievous, brave, and daring boy that goes through adventures in love, murder, and treasure. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain is about a boy maturing from a whimsical troublemaker into a caring young man. In the "conclusion" Mark Twain writes, "It being strictly a history of a boy, it must stop here; the story could not go much farther without becoming a history of a man" Tom is now maturing throughout a span of adventures in love, treasure, and everyday life that make him more of an adult, then a boy.
Huck follows along with Jim down the Mississippi for an adventure. "I reckoned I would slip over the river and find out what was going on...couldn't I put on some of them old things and dress up like a girl?" Huck and Jim has been on the river for couple of days and Huck wants to know what's going around town. He dresses up like a girl and goes to a house near the Illinois shore, but the woman in the house suspects him to be a boy and he gets caught.
Huck Finn, a boy of about 12 years, was the son of the town drunk. Widow Douglas adopted him so that she could civilize him and raise him to be a gentleman. Huck did not like going to school, attending church or dressing up. Tom Sawyer, Ben Rogers, and Joe Harper were his friends at the local school. Huck and Tom found a treasure hidden by bank robbers and were allowed to keep six thousand dollars each, for themselves, as a reward.
Tom Sawyer, the main character of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, written by Mark Twain, is an average boy who is bored with his civilized life and escapes these constraints by pulling pranks. The character, Tom is presented as a realistic and convincing boy. He is kind and loving, but also cruel, stupid, and hypocritical. As the story progresses, Tom shows signs of maturity. The story of Tom Sawyer, as well as TOM being about a realistic character, is a story that is instructive to adults and children.
In the novel “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” by Mark Twain, the characters all value some things specific to his character. Jim and Tom are peculiar characters because they have distinct ways of looking at things. In that Jim values family and friendship, Tom values following the rules, and Huck values the natural world.

Jim baptized Tom, but now he is no longer preaching because he has found that everything is holy and man needs no preacher. His initials are J.C. which are the same as Jesus Christ. Jim shows similar characteristics to Jesus Christ. He sacrifices himself for Tom. Tom has caused a deputy to loose his suspect and is said to be under arrest, but Casey steps in and takes the blame. “It was me, alright” (p.364). Casey is taken by two deputies, but appears to be proud because he knows he has done the right thing. “Between his guards Casey sat proudly, his head up and the stringy muscles of his neck prominent” (p.364). He gives up his freedom so the Joad’s can accomplish their dreams as a family. Tom then meets Muley Graves, an old neighbor. Muley shows animal like characteristics and acts like a mule.
