Working in college is the toughest for full-time college student. For some college students, working full time and getting to school leads to stress and decreased GPA. Students work for multiple reasons, some because they want to gain skills and experience, others because they need money for their expenses. Students who don’t have a job have more time for themselves. They have less pressure. Jobs while in college are different from students who don’t because of time management, pressure, and money. College students get paid the minimum wage, which is $9 to $10 an hour. The reason why they have minimum wage jobs is because it is difficult to find a job that will allow them to flex your schedule according to your classes. Also because the majority of college students don’t have a college degree or no experience. It isn’t much, but it makes a difference. College requires many expenses not only tuition, but also room and board. I work for my personal needs such as food, clothes, and school supplies. It can also help by saving up money earning it with your hard work. Students without jobs have more time in school, however students aren’t paying for their labor. They might not have a reason to work because their parents are paying for them or perhaps they are on scholarship. They have to manage their time well, and are under more pressure and have more money. College Students need to focus on school to do well. A job does not stop students from doing homework or studying. It isn’t easy to stay on task while having a job.
